Scenes from Oshodi – The People, the Market, the Movement by Welcome2Lagos(op):
Hello Nairalanders,

Oshodi is always alive — a melting pot of people, hustle, noise, and energy. I recently passed through and took a few snapshots that I believe capture a glimpse of this ever-busy part of Lagos.

The busy streets, market hustle, yellow buses, and the everyday Lagos vibe. Can’t upload everything here (Nairaland has limits).

📸 No fancy edits. Just Lagos as it is.

What about you?

•When last did you pass through Oshodi?
•What’s one thing you’ll never forget about that area?
•Has Oshodi changed for better or worse?

More unfiltered scenes from Oshodi — no fancy edits, just Lagos in its raw form.

Important: This post only covers a few areas within Oshodi. It doesn’t capture the full picture — Oshodi, like many parts of Lagos, has its vibrant sides, its challenges, and its ongoing development.

These pictures doesn't really show the real busy nature of Oshodi. The cameraman no try. Where is the ever busy pedestrian bridge? Where is Terminal 1?

Sing a song of people
Walking fast or slow
People in a city
Up and down they go

Sing a song of people
Walking fast or slow
Sing of city people
You see but never know

The first and the last stanzas. Not sure I can recall all the rest. Well, maybe most of it I can.

Lagos State needs a massive urban renewal programme. Many parts of the mainland are due for demolition and rebuilding.

Fashola and Ambode have transformed Oshodi. Sanwo-Olu and his successors should focus on other areas of Lagos, including Mushin, Ebute Meta, etc. Lagos is too rich to have too many slums.

I have not been to Oshodi for a decade or more. It used to be rough, tough, and dirty.

The modern park as viewed from YouTube has really changed the outlook, and I think the mannerisms of the touts and railway marketers.

Even from pictures, Lagos looks too stressful. I prefer Abuja anytime, anyday, and twice on Mondays.
