It is never sustainable and would usually favour only a section of the populace.

How will the fueling and repairs/maintenance of these vehicles be funded?

Such recurrent expenditure should be generating some form of income that either totally offsets its running costs or at least, pays for a part of it.

There are other projects that can ease the lives of the people while still generating or boosting revenue for the state.

Free buses, free food/palliatives, happy hour, sponsored marriages and pilgrimages, gifting vehicles to traditional rulers, judges and governors in Niger Republic only translate to wastage and mismanagement of funds.

This project will be abandoned in less than two years.

Best is to subsidize the cost of the buses to the drivers and carry out proper monitoring. Pass should also provided for the civil servants.

Why not seek extra budgetary funds and extend the period to maybe December, flood the cities with buses before removing the subsidy.

Obi doesn't believe in free stuffs . He believes in giving ppl empowerment or skills to work and earn , then pay for subsidized services of government..

Obi never did any free anything in Anambra state.. even the state transport company he created was not free but just a lil subsided.. and that is why 12year after he is left... The company still exist till now...

Obi's handover or missionary skls from govt is the most successful in the nation...

In delta or river for instance, immidiately the hand over was done... The missionary skl feez skyrocketed and poor students ran away in drove and register in mass in the remaining govt skl..

Prompting Ameachi to build more govt skl to accommodate them...

But in Anambra, less than 5% of student s left when it was handed over, including the poor ones stayed.. there is a reason..
