@k0be, America will make a sound example out of Barrack Obama. If we want evidence that Blacks still have a long way to go to surpass coloredness, degradation, and discrimination in America, the upcoming presidential elections will serve as proof for many of us. I'll bet a nickel that most WASP-Americans view Obama as an incompetent waste of campaign space. Are you saying anything outside of an Obama presidency is racism? Please explain, 'cos I for one will not likely vote for him. Voting on the basis of colour is a waste of your vote. |

Voting on the basis of colour is a waste of your vote.Absolutely not, that would be an extreme statement to make, although, I do believe that he'll feel like he has a strong shot at winning, in the days leading up to the presidential elections, only to find out when the results come out that he was fooled all along. If the early polls are any indication, they're losing their hopes in Barrack already. The black population is feeling very good about Obama right now, but we'll soon realize that White America still owns this country, by a laaaaaand-slide. Voting on a color basis will become more important than voting for the most appropriate candidate. |

@k0be, But is Obama the most appropriate candidate of your choice? |

@ kobe, I have the feeling that Obama's only stumbling block will be the democratic primaries. If he beats Clinton then he is as good as having won the presidency. I doubt if America will vote a republican back to office whether the democratic candidate is black or white. Many white americans will vote for Obama, the problem is a lot of blacks still think he has no chance with white voters and wont bother to vote for him since it will be tantamount to a waste of your vote. Give Obama a shot. He sounds like the fresh face America needs to sell itself to a world that is increasingly hostile. clinton wont do any better than Bush! |

That remains to be seen, we still have a very very long way to go. I was hoping he'd take advantage of the youtube-sponsored debate last month to stand-out, re-establish himself, re-affirm his policies, and solidify his position amongst his peers, but he disappointed me. I felt he could have done oh so much better, especially given the opportunity he had going somewhat head-2-head against Hillary. Ever since that debate, it is no surprise that he's losing ground to Auntie Hillary Clinton. |

Can somebody provide an outline of his foreign-policies; what he said he'd do with regards to the on-going war, what he plans to do with America's allies, and how he'll handle the fight against terrorism. |

@k0be, U still haven't said why u think he is the best candidate. Why would u scream racism if he doesn't win? |
| Re: How Will History Judge George Bush by k0be(op): 12:47am On Aug 06, 2007 |
As far as bush is concerned, he's obviously not as stupid as some of us may think he is (myself included). Getting re-elected and turning congress into some kind of puppet that lives by his rules. |

k0be:He's said he will be willing to talk to America's enemies like Iran, Venezuela e.t.c. That has drawn flak from the likes of Hillary Clinton who is capitalizing on that to show him up as naive and inexperienced. What clinton advocates is the same Bush strategy that has not worked in the last 8 yrs! If Obama loses he still has plenty of time to come back and recontest. Hillary Clinton is definitely the best material out there now. |

@k0be,I never said he's the best candidate. What I did hint at is, the results of the upcoming elections will reveal an eye-popping "HOW COME," as far as popular vote is concerned. |

That has drawn flak from the likes of Hillary Clinton who is capitalizing on that to show him up as naive and inexperienced.Inexperience, that's what CNN keeps exploiting about Obama. He's inexperienced, America is unlikely to take a risk on that. What clinton advocates is the same Bush strategy that has not worked in the last 8 years! What Obama needs to do is use this opportunity, and the time he has left, to devise a better plan, a more methodical plan that might convince America that "his plan" is worth a shot. If he doesn't, the rest of America will agree with Hillary Clinton that he's scared, naive, and ultimately inexperienced for the job. |

Obama is a complete joke.He is running for Vice-President and he better be nice to the Clintons if he wants to get that task. Rudy Guliani is my prefered candidate. k0be:I don't wonder whether Bush is stupid.I only wonder about people who genuinely think he is. |

k0be:That is the excuse white america is preparing in order not to be seen as racist. Clinton and Kennedy where about the same age as obama when they won landslide elections and just as inexperienced. What experience does Clinton have? Was she not one of those who voted in favour of the Iraq quagmire? |

PTH:Clinton and Kennedy, rightfully in my view, also suffered the "inexperienced" tag.It is politics.Your perceived weaknesses will be highlighted and discussed and there is nothing remotely racist in the Obama context. Obama has actually received far more postive press than any other candidate. |

I however think the "inexperienced and naive" tag has been used much more on Obama than Clinton in 1992. Clinton was actually seen as a fresh faced alternative to the gerontocratic regimes of Bush senior. |

@TayoD I hope you were one of the people who supported OBJ's attempt to modify the constitution for 3rd term. I'm sure you will support Thabo Mbeki's constitutional amendment too. Or is it only George Bush constitutional amendment you support? |
| Re: How Will History Judge George Bush by Iman3(m): 1:27am On Aug 06, 2007 |
denex:Na good idea you bring up! Bush for a 3rd term! We need to organise a one million man march in front of the American embassy in Lagos. PTH:Obama has only legislative experience while Clinton had "executive" experience, albeit as Gov of Arkansas. However,I think its a significant difference considering the office of the President is part of the Executive arm. |

Same can be said of Hillary Clinton too. But she will definitely benefit from having for husband a former president. |

@Denex, I hope you were one of the people who supported OBJ's attempt to modify the constitution for 3rd term.I never did. Infact, I was staunchly opposed to it. I'm sure you will support Thabo Mbeki's constitutional amendment too. Or is it only George Bush constitutional amendment you support? The constitution is a live document that the people can modify as deems necessary. For instance, Americans can amend the constitution to allow Shwarzeneger to be eligible to run for President. In other words, the majority must decide what they want and if the House and the Senate, the people's representatives make a law, it must be based on the people's will, else dem go hear am on election day. |
