zeezahra:I’m usually the first to encourage anyone and everyone to move to Canada from Nigeria—but bringing kids aged 13 to 15, from secondary school into university here, is hard. IMO, bringing kids that young to Canada when you're not relocating with them is not a good idea. It might not be a popular opinion, but let me explain: Canada is full of opportunities, yes—but at that sensitive age, the risks are real if the transition isn’t well managed. You see that thing they call peer pressure and bad influence? It’s very real here, and that age is very tender. Teens in Canada are exposed to greater social freedom: parties, dating, drugs, and underage drinking—and even hard drug use is common in some high schools. Without strong parental guidance, they may fall into trouble or adopt risky behaviours just to fit in. We have a lot of young Nigerian kids here silently battling drug addiction—and some of them now hang around “safe supply” sites, where the government hands out small doses of drugs to addicts to prevent overdose deaths at home. Let me be clear: hard drugs are decriminalized in small amounts. In some provinces, carrying up to 2.5 grams combined of substances like fentanyl or cocaine won’t get you arrested. But just 2 milligrams of fentanyl—that’s like 5 to 7 grains of salt—can kill an average adult. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/overdose/decriminalization That’s the environment they’re walking into. So yes—unless you are relocating with them, or you have enough money to meet all their needs so they won’t have to work or mix too much with the wrong crowd, I personally think it’s better they stay in Nigeria for now. Let them attend a good private university, or wait until they’re 18 or 19 even at that they are still at high risk but it gets lesser with the amount of time they spent in Nigeria with you before going, when they’ve built more emotional and mental maturity. Please watch this video—this is the reality on ground: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoyyK_8-1Ns?si=pnL26ya3cx4QeGKS Again, except you're relocating with them full-time, this is not the age to take the risk. |

Worryingly:Don’t worry, I pray you get the results you’re looking for. If your resumption is in August or September, they are very aware of the timeline, and you will get a response before then. IRCC is known for processing beyond the stated timelines, but this July, you will definitely hear from them and they can do everything all in one week |

My Profile: I have a B.Sc in Microbiology. Second class lower. No other higher degree. I have 4 years Biology teaching experience. My other business hustle so far is my online business as a forex trader. I am 34 years, single too. My question is this: What is the best advice to travel to Canada. Should I go through school or Express entry. |

Benjifiz36:Thank you so much. I'm just here to share my opinion (IMO), but yes—this safe supply policy is wild. I could go on and on. Just this past March, a judge in Ontario ruled that 10 drug-use sites, which were supposed to close by April 1st, could remain open. Many of these sites are located near daycares and schools. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/supervised-consumption-sites-injunction-reaction-1.7497159 And you think those students do not get involved in what is going on next door hahahah Now think about it: the government, heavily influenced by the radical left, opens places where drug addicts can openly use drugs—even overdose—and insists these sites must stay open, even if they’re near schools. What kind of madness is that? And this is happening across the country, with support from policies like Bill C‑5. I have links and videos for days—it’s truly unbelievable. That’s why I don’t encourage anyone to bring their Underage kids to Canada unless they’re relocating as a family and fully prepared. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggfZwBdaiYk?si=2RUpcstjh-ttAv67 You can even buy cocain pipe in the hospital hahahahahahah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgn_-lqoKbk?si=tSFEeXVeume5OEtW To my good friend Badadvisor—I just wish him all the best in his upcoming marriage. Hello Guys, Good morning Please I want to ask, getting an external scholarship from a reputable organization in Nigeria to finance my study in Canada on a Scholarship worth $50,000 (USD). Do I still need to provide any further POF? Because I really do not have any money in my account aside this $50,000 scholarship. Will this be sufficient enough to proceed with visa application? I also got $3,000 (CAD) scholarship from the school. I have no dependent just myself alone. Can the award letter server as POF |

Soltech1000:Congratulations! Now, to help answer your question — did you know that IRCC isn't as evil as people think they are? Let me explain, as someone who got two rejections before finally getting a yes on my third try Now see What to Do: Submit the official scholarship award letter (from the Nigerian organization). It must be on official letterhead, signed, and state: also yes the Nigerian organization should be easy to contact because IRCC will contact them so officaly email and phone number of the company should be in the letter from them that's very important oo YOu know they do not trust Nigerian organization that much due to bad reputation of giving scholarship and leaving people abroad stranded Your name, Total amount awarded, What it covers (e.g., tuition, living expenses, travel). Payment schedule and to who the money is going to you or the school directly (lump sum or installments). Include your school’s scholarship award letter too. Explain in your Letter of Explanation (LOE) that you’re fully funded by a scholarship and have no dependents, so you are financially covered now your other question Do You Still Need Extra POF? If the scholarship clearly covers all costs and looks reputable and verifiable, you do not need to show personal bank funds. But if there’s any gap in coverage or ambiguity, IRCC might ask for additional POF or clarification. To be safe: Try to get the scholarship body to specify what expenses the $50,000 covers (ideally both tuition and living). If the funds are being sent directly to you or your school, include evidence or confirmation. I am sure you have to pay an amount to the school for acceptance to secure your admission was that payment made by you or the scholarship organization if made by the scholarship include that in your POF document |

Thank you for the breakdown. The scholarship comes from an indigenous oil and gas company in Nigeria. Awardee will receive an official award letter on their letterhead. Based on previous recipients, the scholarship covers tuition, living expenses, and a return flight. The company directly pays the tuition fees, and the remaining balance is given to the awardee for living expenses, but only after visa approval to ensure the funds are used for their intended purpose. According to my admission letter from the school, $50,000 USD should be sufficient to cover both tuition and living expenses. The school cost of acceptance range from $36,000 to $71,000 CAD, so the $50,000 USD scholarship should be enough as mine is around $63,000 CAD (tuition fee for the year + 2025 updated cost of living) The award letter will specify the school I intend to attend. If the Proof of Funds (POF) is assumed to be covered by the award letter, what do you suggest as a good way to demonstrate my ties to my home country? |
