Well, I don't blame ASUU since FG enacted the no work no pay policy, ASUU should also not work if they are not paid on time.
I think I like this policy...Do me I do you ...

For those saying just one month delay and they are embarking on strike....that is the only way to handle this type of government.

Do you know what is happening in the country at all?

Assuming you are dependent on your parents who are lecturers earning meagerly 200k per month, and have their salaries delayed until 10th of the next month, I'm not sure you'll be saying this.

ASUU has been complaining about this for months now, and people like you played deaf to it.

For several months now, salaries kept being delayed (the small salaries for that matter).
How are they supposed to survive?

coastal highway guy has used all the money in the country for road projects.u don’t run a country like that.what this govt has spent on roads, will affect other sectors.i have always known.we have bad roads I agree, but others sectors are also on life support.Tinubu should understand the basic principles of scale of preference.road is not the only problem Nigeria has.

After Tinubu removed subsidy on University education we have been enjoying since independence, it still have not resolved ASUU issues
His slaves are busy counting student loan as achievement. After increasing Federal Government University school fees to over 200k from 50/60k.
The same president who put education beyond the reach of average Nigerian students is the one given free scholarship to St Lucia students, misplaced priorities, he forgot or doesn't know his first assignment is the Nigerian people
When his lying supporters spread propaganda of students loan they will hide the fact that its because of the crazy increase of school fees beyond the ordinary through which he now wants to put Nigerians into unnecessary debt, while disenfranching others
Tinubu is a weapon fashion against Nigerians from hell
Re: ASUU Directs Members To Begin Nationwide Strike by prickursense: 7:44am On Jul 08, 2025
ASUU is part of the problem of Nigeria, not a solution. Tertiary education has become fake because of shenanigans of ASU members. Sex for grades, sexual harrassment of female students, selling research marks and supervision, completing research papers for final year students, the list of infractions goes on and on. If they like let them go on strike forever. They are part of the problem, no a solution to the tertiary education problem in Nigeria.

Facts.

It baffles me when those clowns were listing student loan as achievement of this calamitous administration.

Nobody needed government loan to go to school in Nigeria before, then Tinubu happened.

I keep saying it this his minister of finance is very incompetent and on top of it he still made him coordinating minister, simple task he can't complete
Minimum wage he can't smoothly implement their meager award, it's been two years they came to destabilise the economy, the little respite they promised, they are stuck in implementation
If Tinubu is in charge or know what he is doing, would he not have interven ,like president like minister

Some of una no just get common sense.

If your parents were lecturers you won't be capping this drivel, because it means you won't even see money for some utilities in the house.

A workman is worthy of his wages.

The politicians receive their own for June but lecturers should endure grin

You'll see ASUU members criticising politicians up and down, but when you give them the opportunity to become the returning officers during elections, they will hand over the election to the highest bidder.
Are you sure you read the story? First, it's old news. Secondly, it's a response to salary delays.
Re: ASUU Directs Members To Begin Nationwide Strike by jesustheissue: 7:52am On Jul 08, 2025
Core civil servants sometimes do not get paid by government on time, a week, two or more in times gone by and yet remain at their duty posts. I personally have lost the sympathy I should have for these people, on too many occasions our children and us parents have been made to endlessly suffer on account of their issues with government

This is one of the good scorecard of Baba Seyi o and now it's about to be off the table.
At this junction, just like I didn't vote for anybody last election, I think would sit this one out too o. Make Obi kuku enter make all these Obidents see how imPOssible for anyone to successfully lead a country as complex and complicated like Nigeria with heavy tribal bigotry at heart.

How many days make a month? And by the adoption of "no work no pay policy" what should be done if lecturers have worked and not paid?Would it take FG a century to put pay to irregularities in IPPIS by implementing an agreed new payment system?

Not again!

ASUU: this is one strike too many!

The ASUU has every right to fight for the welfare of members but, it's one's belief that the reason given for this particular one appears flimsy, unconscionable and extremely selfish.

Those responsible for the payment of staff salaries equally appear, lackadaisical, mindless and definitely shirking their responsibilities.

They must live up to their responsibilities without being reminded to do what is a monthly task/duty.

On the part of the ASUU, asking members to embark on strike each time there's a little delay in the payment of staff salaries appears extreme. There could be likely glitches in the system responsible for such a delay.

The frequency of strikes at our citadels of learning, apart from being nauseating, affects the academic calendar and the psychological well-being of students.

Let there be a speedy resolution to this avoidable strike without procrastination and unnecessary muscle-flexing.

Haba!
