Hello fellow farmers, I want to share my experience raising 100 day old broiler chicks to maturity. Over the next few posts, I'll be documenting my journey, challenges, and lessons learned. From brooding to market weight, I'll cover it all. Hope you find my experience helpful and informative. Let's get started!

Here is a list of items I purchased for this venture:

1. 100 day old broiler chicks = #78,000 (#39,000 per carton)
2. Broiler starter feed (Hybrid)= #21,800 per bag
3. Broiler finisher feed (Hybrid)= #21,800 per bag
4. Vaccines and medications = for now I only bought glucose, Anti-cocci, multivitamin and antibiotics (#3,400)
5. Brooder equipment (5 drinkers, 2 tray and 3 Aluminum feeders) =#7,400 will buy more as they grow bigger.
6. Rechargeable lamp for lightning = #8,500
7. Saw dust 2 bags = #1000
8. Charcoal half bag = #5,500
9. Weighing Scale = #10,000 ( later found out i was extorted, price was lesser at other stores)
9. Detergent, disinfectant, etc = #2,550

The chicks arrived today.
I received 101 chicks, It should be 102 but a chick died due to transportation stress.

I made the brooding room ready with warmth and glucose solution before the chicks arrived.
Administering glucose to the chicks upon arrival is a great way to help reduce stress and provide energy. Glucose helps replenish energy depleted during transportation.

You have to pad the wall with cardboard or foldable sheet

That feeder is for older birds...

Use the flat tray feeders instead. The ones you placed the drinkers on!
