I learnt this Saturday is LG elections in Lagos. Will there be free movement in Lagos or they will restrict movement like the state and federal elections conducted by INEC?
The fact that someone as informed as you is asking this important question is an indictment on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission. Information like this should already be public with widespread reach, so people can plan accordingly.

Almost every Nigerian governor wins this Governor of the year award. Don't believe what I say, Just type "Nigerian governor of the year 2024" and see if you wont see up to 10 governors winning their own version they paid for

In the year 2024 alone from a quick goggle search, The following governors won the governor of the year award

Demola Adeleke
Sheriff Oborevwori
Peter Mbah
Hope Uzodimma
Abba Yusuf
Umar Namadi
Duoye Diri
Charles Soludo
Abiodun Oyebanji
Babagana Zulum
Dikko Radda
Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Bala Mohammed

These are the 13 governors of the year 2024 alone that I could see from a 30 seconds Google search. There are probably more. So this is the peak evidence of Peter Obis excellence an award where at least 13 governors win per year

I remember reading the news in April when they announced date for the Election, but I didn't see anywhere in the news where they mentioned whether there will be restriction of movement.

This last weekend I saw them holding rallies/campaign in different parts of the state yet, till now I'm not sure if they would restrict movement.

Like you rightly said, one needs these information to plan one's movement. For example I have an appointment this Saturday and I'm already thinking of cancelling because of the uncertainty surrounding restriction of movement.

You've seen one. Bring up the other awards.

Someone that improved education, health and productivity

At least ask people from SE especially Anambra, they will tell you that looking back they appreciate PO more. He won 99% of the votes while Tinubu lost his own state Lagos to the same Obi despite all his rigging.

Na 99% of people living in Anambra posted on the NL thread that said he was a terrible governor before it became time to renovate his profile

For the other awards show us the person that won it after Obi. E.g the governors that won the awards from 2015 to 2025. Na how we dey know fake award and emergency awards be that. They no dey get history

Does this invalidates the 400 SUV to traditional rulers?

Tin can port propaganda ❌

400 suv for trad leaders ❌

First and most importantly..The propaganda of buying 400 SUVs has been debunked.

Please how much was earmarked for this ur non-frugal expenditurehuhhuh?

I heard he bought whatever from Innoson..::::

I am probabaly too lazy to argue about the truthfulness of whatever was bought

How many SUVs did he buy for the royal fathers?

While at that, Please confirm this when he was Governor:

Extravagant Spending on Vehicle Maintenance

Among the most eye-catching figures in the budget is the allocation of N200 million for the maintenance of motor vehicles and capital assets. While this figure may appear justifiable on the surface, what has sparked concern is that these vehicles — predominantly Peugeot 406s, as confirmed by sources familiar with state government procurement at the time — were government-standard cars not known for excessive maintenance costs.

Observers note that such an amount, dedicated to maintaining what are essentially mid-range sedans, suggests either gross inefficiency or potential misappropriation of funds. In contrast, the same line item received N135 million the previous year, meaning there was an inexplicable 48% increase in just one year.

Oseloka made a mistake?

Okay below is Ubah writing the same back in 2013

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/ubah-tackles-gov-obi-over-car-gifts-to-traditional-rulers/

You will probably say Ubah too made a mistake in 2013

The problem is Obis footprint of corruption are all over the internet dating back to when he was in power, all the renovation are after his regime and he started contesting for office. No one had anything good to say about Obi before he started running for Federal office

You know in your mind that Obi is corrupt, if they ask you to swear in front of ayelala that Obi is corrupt you will probably decline but to push the scam you are trying to deceive us

The renovation of Obi's reputation was diabolical. People that literally wished him dead during his tenure came back to announce his ascension to sainthood.

While people couldn't feel the positives of his government in infrastructures, baba was dashing cars to Royal fathers not to complain or what? grin

MrGlobe:
Nothing exactly my brother. I posted a thread earlier comparing him with Theodore orji of Abia state and everybody agreed he is worse. I went to Awka the capital and it was an eyesore. No roads, no planning, no infrastructure etc. There is absolutely no govt in anambra state.

This is the same Obi spending money on pilgrimage. I am sure Segedinho will have some explanation for it that Obi was frugally sending people on pilgrimage

I don't think I can ever work for government in Nigeria sha. I so much hate the way government would just delay their salaries and there won't be any reasonable explanation. I have always detested inconsistent payday right from NYSC days.

If u are in the private sector, u would be so much used to getting ur salary on the fixed date. The date would've already been stated in ur employees' handbook and if that date falls on a weekend u will sure get ur salary earlier than usual because they will adopt the last working date before the weekend as payment day for such month.

At least thank God the University unions threatened strike and the FG quickly responded by paying on the 8th.
Baba, don't be too sure o. Working for government sef dey in levels. Na only civil servants/govt employees dey get the short end of the stick. Political appointment dey make sense wella. Na wetin make that UK PhD CV writer dey hustle commissioner of education.

Shey if your state governor wan appoint you as commissioner of finance, you go reject am?

What you get away with in govt work, you will be sacked in Private sector if you do 5% of it. There is a reason why people at the top of private sector careers still hustle for govt jobs especially at the top

Yeah, I understand it's the civil servants that get the short end of the stick as far as terms of service is considered.

I also don't think I'm interested in the attention that comes with political appointment and the compromise one would have to make over and over again.
