Good read.
I think Biden especially lost me when he allowed the GOP to go after his son without much pushback.
Yeah, Hunter made some mistakes, but to paint a dude who was a Yale Law Grad, current Georgetown Professor, sat on the boards of a couple of big banks (appoint by George Bush) and Amtrak as some bum who got his jobs strictly through Nepotism was insane.

Until Dems fight back and figure out how to equalize or neutralize the perpetual rage machine on the right, no matter how good their policies are, the will continue to lose elections.
Biden knew his son Hunter despite the advantage he got earlier in life by being the son of a Senator unlike his brother Beau, turned out to be a bum, a drug user, impregnated his own brothers widow and who used his dad's position in govt to get contracts with foreign govt

That was why they were so eager to bury the Biden laptop story which turned out to be true with all the gory contents inside it which is his dad was giving him pre emptive pardons before leaving office

Biden used to ask, why do you need a pardon if you've not committed an offence

Hunter became a huge liability to his dad

For a second there I thought you were referring to Hegseth who now happens to be the Defense Secretary and who you defended vehemently..
Failed Marriage, cheating on his wife, failed jobs and an alcoholic to boot.
Consistency isn't your strong suit.

Except that Hegseth was not using his dads connection to get on board of Burisma and promising companies deals once they give him the "big guys" cut

Hegseth a son of a basketball coach, High school valedictorian got into Princeton and Harvard, Bronze star winner rose to become defense secretary
Hunter a son of a sitting senator who later became VP and President, a full time Nepo baby. Whose only claim to fame was cashing in on the position of his dad. What achievements did he have that wasn't tied to his last name and who his father was? The first job after law school as a consultant to a company that donated to his dad

If you ask Joe Biden, he was infinitely more proud of the son Beau turned out to be in his short life that the disgrace Hunter brought to his name

Yes, he was using his Georgetown BA and Yale Law Degree, his experience as executive vice President at MBNA, and his status as a board member for Amtrak appointed by George Bush to get on the board of Burisma.

You might have not heard of Georgetown or Yale as they aren't as prestigious as those Harvard extension school classes you took remotely.
You've drank gallons of that kool-aid. You can hate Hunter but he had experience enough (no matter how he got it) to be where he was.

Let me tell you a secret. Connections/Nepotism sux but that's how the world works or did you think a Harvard Business Degree was only about what you learned there.
A friend hit me earlier this year that his son was interested in Quants and remembered my boy who he met who did that at a big bank. I hit my friend up and told him to connect with my boy and his son, have him to the office and take him to lunch with other Partners at the bank. He did. What's the probability of him getting an internship there? High.

How did he get into Georgetown or Yale? Would he have gotten there without his dads recommendation?
Hegseth got into Princeton as the son of a basketball coach without any dad calling in favors

Post Law school Hunter couldnt go into the corporate world to prove himself rather it was in companies that had ties to his dad all through his life. His brother Beau went to the same law school, went on to clerk for judges, joined the military and went to war to serve

While Hunter was selling his dads name everywhere. Of all the Banks to work, it was one where his dad got donations. Everywhere was appointment into govt or lobbying

Joe Biden would wish for a son like Pete Hegseth who rose to the peak of his career without any big name dad unlike the Hunter who brought disgrace to the family

Post Yale Law School Hunter couldn't get into the corporate world.
That sentence in itself proves how much you know on this topic. Nothing .

Google Yale Law School employment opportunities. See where the graduates work and who recruits there.
You are probably talking about the most desirable of desirable job applicants..

You sound jealous.

Those who got to the seat by being Nepos should take a back seat when those who had to work their way up are talking. Any mediocre like Hunter can get a Nepo push

Hunter got to the place by Nepo but Nepo couldnt keep him there, which was why he brought disgrace t his family name

Do you think Joe looks at Hunter and he is proud of what his son turned into? Vs Pete's dad who with his basketball job raised a Princeton harvard, Bronze star and defence sec

You mean despite Yale law employment opportunities, Hunter couldnt get any bar the company that gave his dad campaign funds?

Tell us anything Hunter did to in life without the Biden name push, when he was not chaperoned by his dad, we saw on his laptop what his life became

You are the one who sounds jealous about Pete a son of no one who rose to ne of the highest posts in the country

If Pete got the push Hunter got, Who knows what he could have been

Meanwhile the Mamdani allies have promised to primary Democrats targeting Hakeem Jeffries,
Jerry Nadler, Dan Goldman, Yvette Clark and Ritchie Torres

André Richardson, a senior adviser to Jeffries, struck a more combative tone, telling CNN that "Leader Hakeem Jeffries is focused on taking back the House from the MAGA extremists who just ripped health care away from millions of Americans.

"However, if Team Gentrification wants a primary fight, our response will be forceful and unrelenting. We will teach them and all of their incumbents a painful lesson on June 23, 2026."

By calling Mamdani's allies "Team Gentrification," Richardson was likely referencing the fact that the New York state assemblyman won the support of younger progressives who are whiter and wealthier than most of the residents in districts where incumbent Democrats are being targeted.

How far. I remember asking lordadam16 about Nvidia and if they have it in them to make a run
Seems Nvidia is not done
Nvidia just became the first 4Trillion company. I loaded 500 units during the Trump tariff issues and I am up 60%
You loaded. You did what you should.
Would still be up if you had picked Amazon or Broadcom or Cloudflare or CoreWeave.

On April 3 , I specifically said execution of Trump's tariff policy was irrelevant and that high-quality names will be fine.
The policy itself was always going to be a slingshot.

From what I understand of Ibime strat, it's about getting in early and getting out when taxi drivers start chatting about the name.
Nvidia was already a retail favorite when you asked that ?.

Say he wanted to scalp on the ticker because he anticipates positive movement, you'd need to literally be in his DM, so you're aware of when he enters and when he exits.

My overarching thesis on tech remains valid. Because it is epoch-defining.
But while the sector has a bright future, individual companies and sub-niches have their respective potentials and headwinds.

On Nvidia, there are three headwinds to note:

1. In the late stages of Biden's administration, the US sought to restrict global access to top-line chips. Trump kept that on for a while, but Washington seems to have backed off to some degree. They could flip on that. On a related note, there are many irons in the fire with the express desire to snatch market share from NVIDIA.

2. The pace of AI (formerly AGI now Superintelligence) and robotics (so called physical AI) advancement. No one knows how it'll progress, not even Ilya. Most are optimistic but it could be the next fusion where we're always 10 years away. However, with CAPEX still up, competition still heated (Zuck offering billions for talent and OpenAI making billion-dollar acquisitions), and measurable impact surging (layoffs, OpenAI/Anthropic revenue rising, enterprise implementation); there's still enough tinder in the short-term [6-18 months] to keep the blaze going.

BUT: stock price is a leading indicator. So if outlook begins to worsen. Say, an entire generation of LLMs from the big labs are underwhelming; the price will tank even though chip order lead times are still high and junior roles are going extinct.

3. NVIDIA is a hardware company. And hardware companies ALWAYS stall. Would it stall in 6 months? No. 2 years? Likely not. But it will inevitably stall, unless they pivot. Apple extended its run by moving mountains to increase its software (services) revenue. Still, it is stalling and I wouldn't buy it today. Nokia, Blackberry, Sony are previous victims.

Of course, Jensen is aggressively trying to discover new streams. He may or may not succeed and that is why this is an important factor to watch.

NVIDIA is the MVP right now. But there are at least a dozen exciting names within and outside tech that'll print.

From the likes of Joby Aviation to ServiceNow.
A rate cut is inevitable, so you know real estate names will soon start moving.
Bottom line is there are no shortage of opportunities and you only need to identify a few high performers.
Obviously, a correction or recession will pause the music, but things will kick back up again.

-Lord

No surprise that the Trump DOJ got their list of students to prosecute from a Pro Israel group. I'm sure the Israeli government and/or Mousad was involved in its creation.
This should be an absolute scandal.

A senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement official testified in federal court on Wednesday that his office had used opaque pro-Israel blacklisting websites to help target international student activists for investigation and possible deportation.

The admission by Peter Hatch, the assistant director of the Homeland Security Investigations department within ICE, appeared to be the first time that an administration official had acknowledged taking cues from the shadowy groups behind the sites, including Canary Mission, which has been accused of doxxing individuals engaged in pro-Palestinian activism.

That you think Trump could ever run anything competently is your problem.
You're one of those people who gets impressed by people who talk a big game about the things they supposedly have done.

You are wholly incapable of recognizing deficient and incompetent people.
That speaks volumes about you.

He is happy that a nuclear site making nukes to potentially destroy the US was not damaged. This is because of hatred for Trump.
