They should borrow more, we need it. If Nigeria could repay we will sell parts of the country that have been involved in leadership since all these borrowing and repay the loan, as simple as that |

stop hiding under the freedom of information to spread false narratives. The Government can't pay Hitech such amount and for emphasis the road is question is a PPP arrangement . lets even agree that the alleged sum was paid and another borrowed , United State the so called most richest nation on earth has a public debt of thirty seven trillion dollars. that's more than the GDP of all the African countries even in 50 years. |

JASONjnr:What kind of useless development is that. Why can't they use it and build something that will pump more money into the federal account. They borrow to build legacy projects while embezzling some and thereby devalue the naira the more. That's why the naira is so useless right now. Because they have to meet up the payment deadline. Very useless evil APC government 😡😡😡😡 |

People are stealing you silly and you are defending them |

The EFCC should note this because he is going to leave that office The Chsgouris are being used to launder money for Tinubu The entire budget for Jonathan was N4trilliom plus. This thief called Tinubu is allocating trillions for one road that is yet to reach 100 kilometers even though all these monies have been released |

Bobloco:The fact that they did a road in Lagos is a poor yardstick for awarding them this mega project that traverses very difficult terrains as we have in Calabar and other parts of the delta where the roads are expected to go though including bridges. Calabar ITU has some of the most difficult terrainz is the hi-tech capable or they intend outsource those sections to more experience and qualified hands Again the loan is for the same section 1 that has just he commissioned ...who can explain this ? |

Putinofrussia:So why waste trillions in birgin road when existing roads leading to the same exact locations are in deplorable state ..17 people were crushed to death in Calabar -itu road when a truck fell on a passenger bus d. I lost a friend on the same road just last year July in similar incident when a truck offloaded concrete on their bus due to it swerving from side to side as it tried to navigate the potholes killing every one of the 17 passengers as well |

The new loan announcement came months after the federal government awarded the coastal highway to Hitech Construction Company Ltd, a company owned by President Bola Tinubu’s ally Gilbert Chagoury, for over N15 trillion, drawing criticism from Nigerians over the procurement process. |

26 May 2025, President Tinubu formally commissioned the first section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. The 30-kilometer stretch, known as Section 1, runs from Ahmadu Bello Way to Eleko Junction in Lagos State.[12] The event, which was attended by government officials and contractors, was described by the presidency as a major step forward in the implementation of a nationally strategic project. |
