vaxx:come to Ghana first before you talk o. Each of this buildings may be just one out of about 6 maximum in the entire school. Ghana universities can be compared to faculties in a Nigerian university. Their schools are very small. You can see the length and breadth of an entire school at one glance. You can also walk an entire campus in few minutes. No jokes intended. I'm speaking from what I've seen here in Accra. |

oceanblazer:I have been to Ghana! The fact that Ghana even has some areas it beats Nigeria is a big shame. Like, we should just stop this madness. The same thing happens when U mention the amazing stride in SA, and u will hear Nigerians talking about this and that when we are suffocating in this country. No stable electricity even in Aso Rock, military and police harrass u anyhow, Universities are like where they rear pigs. Fraudstars no let person rest, Nigerian IP blacklisted in many countries, roads are terrible, like pathetic. Hospitals are death center, I mean, our healthcare is zero. Do u want to talk about insecurity? Oh lord have mercy, over 200 people could be killed in one day here. Guy, nigeria is wack. Lets stop pretending, Nigeria is a complete failure. The cities are dirty for such an oil producing nation with loud noise. There is no single sporting local league that works here. Our football stadium are in total mess. I have been to some local matches, lord have mercy. And u want to compare Nigeria with countries that have at least one or two working fine for them. Tell me just one thing that works here, I am waiting. That is my point, with all these madness, Nigerians think they can come online and brag. The day herdsmen slaughtered over 200 people in this country in Benue alone, Nigerians were on Twitter forming giant of Africa, dragging with SA. Come, we are shameless. U cant slaughter over 300 citizens of a country in one month and still be bragging to be a working nation. Even Ukrain at war has not lost such numbers. Let me shock u. Iran at war with Israel has stable electricity than Nigeria that is not at war. We watch men rig elections and even brag about it and we do nothing. We are shameless count6ry |

4tomandchi:This is nonsense. Go and check some private universities in Nigeria and compare. What makes a university is not colour but content. A lot of products of Nigerian universities perform excellently abroad. My son attended RGU Scotland. In the same Msc program, the course rep for September set was a Nigerian that finished from LASU with first class. My son was the course rep for January set and he finished from FUTA (I will not tell you his grade). He told me of how himself and his friend from LASU made money doing course work for students from other nations. Some students in the same program came from University of Aberdeen asking for assistance. Stop demarketing everything Nigeria. You gain nothing. |

Princedapace:Na people like you travel straight from village or ghetto inside Nigeria come enter Ghana. I doubt you have traveled Nigeria. Besides, I think you are speaking from a pained place so I can't blame you for speaking ill of Nigeria. Who knows if you are Nigerian or Biafran. Such talk is common place among Biafrans. |

oceanblazer:you mean my country... 😂 The 20 public fledged university are way bigger and standardized than many Nigeria universities. Many private institution in Ghana run mono faculty program hence no reason to have a bigger campus . Private university which have extensive program like academic city or central university are way bigger as well. Webster University ( a subsidiary of American University) is a mono faculty in GH, with some few storey building. When you go to Dubai or Qatar , you will see similar structures representing such infrastructure too. |

SmartPolician:I don't believe your story. University of Ghana, legon, has more beautiful buildings than many universities in Africa. Safe University of Joburg and Capetown, university of Ghana legon, ranks very high on infrastructure in Africa. Don't deceive the general public! |

oceanblazer:So where is the lie in my comment? I have been to many places in Nigeria Baba and I'm a successful person. I have been to all regions in Nigeria Baba. Nigeria get electricity abi e no get? ![]() Did herdsmen slaughter over 200 people few weeks ago or not? I drive a luxury brand and very low on the road, it suffers a lot on our roads. Extremely bad and pathetic roads for an oil rich country. |

Dpaulie:Well, from the QS rankings, it trails both the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos. It is just in the same percentile with the Ahmadu Bello University. So I think your facts are not right. Except if you had another source. But from my experience, I know very well that the best university in Ghana will not in any way stand close, in research output, with an average university in Nigeria. If it is clout of chasing rankings, they can. Just like how Covenant University pursues these rankings and comes first in our systems. But in respect to the quality of published works and patents, a good ranking system wouldn't even permit Covenant University to be close to 10 of the Nigerian public schools. That is the same thing with Ghanaian and some (most) Malaysian schools. |

| Re: Pictures Of Private Universities Facilities In Ghana by vaxx: 3:13pm On Jul 11, 2025 |
Nwaikpe:You lied , by times higher standards, UCC in Ghana is by far the best best university in W Africa and around around number 7 in entire Africa. Times higher standards is a UK ranking recognized intuition |
| Re: Pictures Of Private Universities Facilities In Ghana by Nwaikpe: 3:56pm On Jul 11, 2025 |
vaxx:I knew you would refer to Times Higher ranking ![]() If only you were in the system, you would understand what the ranking of some of these bodies relies on. Just in case you don't know, Times Higher ranking is a paid ranking system that ranks only those who "are registered in their system." And they rank based on the metrics you apply for. That is why private universities, not only in Nigeria but everywhere, spend a lot on these rankings, and that is an endeavor public universities are unwilling to take with regard to their scarce resources. So, somehow, you believe that Covenant University, on Times Higher, is better than the University of Ibadan. Whereas, if the main metrics were research output, 70% of Covenant University teaching staff are full-time lecturers in UI. I don't even know how to explain it to you sef. Let's agree I am lying. |
| Re: Pictures Of Private Universities Facilities In Ghana by vaxx: 5:05pm On Jul 11, 2025 |
Nwaikpe:It doesn't matter where is the primary focus of assignments of any lecturer. They are standard and metric used by this ranking institution and this ranking institution are private , so forget about it being paid or not . If your institution does not meet this standard you will be downgraded |

Nwaikpe:Read my quote again and tell me if I was wrong or not because you're talking as if poor facilities is the criterium for academic and research excellence |
