lovewins:Okocha's legacy is the flair of the game but Mikel Obi has his name etched in gold with his performance in the Champions League finals for Chelsea and his FA Cup final performance against Manchester United. Osimhen has the potential of accomplishing more or be a poster boy for Nigerians when they go to Turkey. |

lovewins:Osimhen might see it as disrespectful, I see it as pride. Apart from the Napoli League winning season, Osimhen has not done what it takes to keep top clubs shivering for him. Osimhen needs top legacy to expect respect. Galatasaray can not make him one of the best players in the history of the game. An improved paycheck can't. He can chase history or a bank account. That is his business. |

TheGoodJoe:It still boils down to personal definitions and we can’t force that on any player. Simple |

Goke7: I already said it is Osimhen's choice. I am just shocked he will throw away a chance of becoming one of the top players in world football for a jumbo paycheck. |

TheGoodJoe:Even Boniface almost chased the money to Saudi. |

TheGoodJoe:Again this is an unfair characterisation. What makes his request jumbo? What is the difference between what he's been offered and what the clubs are willing to pay? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:53pm On Jul 12, 2025 |
lovewins:That is where the puzzle lies. Why not work with an offer the top clubs will pay than standing on what he wants. He prefers the extra pay to a chance for legacy. It is a fact and not characterization. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by lovewins: 4:54pm On Jul 12, 2025 |
TheGoodJoe:And how is pride in this context a bad thing? Top sportsmen all over the world exhibit same disposition. It's a business and knowing your worth is what gets you paid. The biggest basketball star in America after LeBron and Curry (Maybe KD) is a girl named Caitlin Clark. She commands the biggest economic value of any basketball player currently, yet she got lowballed by Nike to a 8 year $28M deal just last year. Had she waited just a few weeks she'll probably be getting the same deal Jordan got with Nike. At the crux of your argument is that you really think Osimhen isn't worth his demand and if you really think that then lead with that, you've acknowledged as much. |

TheGoodJoe:The argument works both way. If the clubs think he's who they really need then why not pay the difference? What is the onus on Victor to reduce his worth to suit clubs in England, especially when said top clubs have shown over the years not to have issues paying for what they truly value. |

TheGoodJoe:Osimhen is proud to ask a similar wage to what Kvara for example is earning? |

Goke7:To whom much is given, much is required of him. Osimhen has been blessed with great talent,it comes with the great responsibility to use it wisely in a best possible way not only for his own benefits but for others as well |

Napoleon55:And you think he can't empower his family with the wages he earns? To you using his talent to benefit others is just by playing for top clubs to make fans happy? BTW show me a top footballer that took a 50% pay cut to play for a top team? |

The truth about osimehn saga most Nigerians we like to lie to ourself osimehn as a player I don’t think he has scored more than 15 goals in all his footballing career more than 3 season and he is already 26 his only exploits he should have cashed on was the Napoli title winning season that all We just like to so much overhype our players a lot there must be a reason why big club isn’t going for him or ready to break the bank don’t say cause he is an African Hakimi , salah and the rest all playing for big club so many other African have played for big clubs |

DeloitteNG:If spending his prime years in Turkey is the best u think he can use his great talent, na u sabi. If u think making fans and Nigerians happy is not part of it,u are mistaken. Why do we bother even coming to this thread? |

Napoleon55:It’s your personal definition! This idea that a player must play in the epl to be recognised as great is warped |

Napoleon55:Great responsibility from who? What defines using it wisely, a player scores goals that won him trophies in just the concluded season and we think he’s not using his talent wisely and benefiting others? Chai 😂 |

Goke7:No he's not. Six of those goals in the Süper Lig is equal to 1 in the Premier League The two against Tottenham is ⅓ of one Premier League goal because they were not scored in a Man Yoo shirt... 😒

lovewins: I wonder where you got the idea that I don't think Osimhen is worth his demand. Contrary to that, I think and believe he is actually worth far more than that. However, Osimhen has not proven it long on the biggest stages to easily get his actual worth yet. Getting into one of the biggest clubs and doing big things will easily command those wages and more. Even moving later to a retirement League and earning crazily. At this time, Osimhen should be chasing making history and building a legacy. |

Goke7:Yes. Manchester United is still a big club. They can give Osimhen the opportunity of clinching the golden boot in the English Premier League. |
