Put poverty and bad governance aside, this is peer pressure. As a matter of fact, most of the people here can afford to feed well in Nigeria. Poor Nigerians do not have money for passport and visa.

My comment is based on the caption of the post. I don't waste my time on such videos. What brought the crowd is also what brought her. So whatever she thinks of the crowd also applies to her.
You just spoke nonsense, almost nobody can feed well in Nigeria, a meal is average 2k5...3 meals times 30 days is 225k,how many people dey earn up to that, na food alone ooo, most cant even afford to go to private hospital for malaria again

This is Tinubu's handwork. He turned Nigeria to hell.
Relocation is normal. Ghanaians, Indians, Chinese etc. relocate. There was a time in this country when a lot of British, American, Lebanese etc. were all over Apapa, VI, Ikoyi and Ilupeju in Lagos. In one company that I worked we had twenty six Romanians.

So chill and stop condemning everything Nigeria.

The poor do not sell their land or borrow money to relocate. Fools are the ones that do such things.
lol how are they foolish? Pls explain.
Sell lands, travel out, work hard, amass wealth, come back to Nigeria buy multiple lands, open a business etc.
For me it's not
I know of a medical officer doctor that earns $156. 25 a month in Abia State specialist and Diagnostic Hospital Aba road but he's counterpart in Sierra Leone is earning 1.5 million, if he decides to leave this country to earn more. Sells his land and borrows money from relatives, travels to Sierra leone works for 3 years and comes back to open up a private hospital is he foolish?

There is nothing like peer pressure, the country is not safe, no electricity, you work hard and pay less etc
Most of these people are using their life saving just to escape this shithole called a country

Maybe they want to go and fight for Russia against Ukrain.

$800 dollars soldiers salary might be attracting most of them.

If you think they only reason people are leaving naija is because of hard times, think again. Let me use this vidoe as an example: If one of those people eventually find their way to Europe and become a citizen of an EU country, guess what? Their children and children's children will never have to stand on a line that that ever again. Getting a "strong" second passport is one of the best investments you can make in the lives of your children. The ease of movement and life it provides them, millions can not buy. There are people I know who have remote jobs, and they travel a lot with ease. That is due to the fact that they a great passport that gives them access to over 180 countries visa free. Someone with an American passport for example can easily relocate to Canada, The EU, and to most other countries hassle-free.

Which kind peer pressure? Bad Governance and poverty is enough to make people want to japa. During my housemanship in 2014, I was never thinking of japa, despite how bad the Govt was then, I was forming patriotic and e go better.

But Tinubu's Govt is so unbearable, like he was sent to punish Nigerians for their ancestral sins and theirs.

I know that U.S. passport holders can travel to a large number of countries for tourism or as visitors without needing a visa (visa-free) or at most get a visa on arrival.

You are right concerning the opportunity that comes with the second passport, especially for countries like the UK, US, Canada, and a host of others.

But when it comes to relocation to another country, a US passport holder still needs to apply for the proper visa or permit.

For example, a US passport holder that wants to live and work in Canada needs to apply for the proper visa or permit that will grant him residency.

Not peer pressure if you ask me cos I recently asked some of my colleagues that left Nigeria what was the driving force and it was centered around the desire to ensure that their children get the opportunity to exhibit their talents to full potential in a saner clime.

It's mostly for the future of the family for some. For the unmarried they hope to raise a family in a place where there's governance and rights

These Japa people are doing it not because of poverty or hardship, but the nonsensical "abroad" mentality prevalent among Nigerians that equate migration with success and enlightenment.

There's this false idea of a non-discriminatory utopia where migration is dead easy, jobs are plentiful begging for applicants, money grows on trees, the locals welcome migrants, the girls swoon at the sight of black men, all the streets are perfectly paved with gold, honey runs from taps, and everything is all fine and dandy.

People who live abroad, or who even went briefly and came back, earn a strange sort of mystic admiration.

Nigeria is better than Belarus, only someone that have been brainwashed that anything white is better will Nigeria and migrate to Belarus.

These are clear signs of a failed government of a nation.

A government that have made the youths to lose complete confidence in their country.

The only hope of most Nigerian youths making it in life is through Japa and lipsrsealed let me not say it here, it's a shame and some people are still advocating for the same failed President to continue, to do what again self? cry
Lazy youths.

Instead of them to come together and fight for restructuring, then take it from there.

Sometimes it's laziness, they just want to leave Nigeria no matter to which country so far they are abroad, none is going there with any plans at hand, believing to do whatever they see that can give them money,
