Good day everyone I am here as a novice ...and I need my nairalander family to give me some understanding with respect how things are carried out or done with respect to marriage .

First of all is court marriage same as marriage registry, the lady in the picture resides in europe and she has gotten her papers already but she has a fiancee or fiance ( the guy) who is in Nigeria and wants to bring him over. The issue here is she doesn't want to come down based on some pressing issue at the moment and has asked the guy to get information with respect to how the said marriage can be done without her physical presence and the necessary requirements to be met.

Is it possible for a successful union to be carried out without one of the parties present, the guy resides in lagos and he is looking out ikoyi registry to carry out the necessary.

What and what are the requirements that must be met cos she wants everything wrap up before year ending infact as soon as possible.

I have read some thread here with respect to this but I haven't gotten clear understanding.
