It looks like you're referring to **"General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5."** Can you clarify what exactly you want? For example, do you want: * Common **questions and answers** about UK visas? * Updates on **UK visa rules in 2025?** * Help with a **specific type of UK visa** (visit visa, spouse visa, work visa, etc.)? * Sample conversation for visa enquiries? |

Please I'll love to ask, would the public holiday tomorrow affect people doing biometrics? |

Hello Guys. Please, someone help me with a sample of cover letter for Tourist Visa. I have tried searching through some of the pages, but can’t seem to find it. Also, due to error in conversion from Naira to GBP, I over estimated my Savings by about 2,000 pounds. Can I explain this in my cover letter or I need to cancel my application and refill? My Biometrics is on Friday, July18. Many Thanks. |

spriteB:If the travel is not urgent, you should cancel the application. Refund takes time. Send me an email for a cover letter sample. |

Hi all, I’m planning to fly with British Airways and would like to bring homemade frozen soup. Can I pack it in my carry‑on if it’s completely frozen solid, or does it need to go in checked luggage? Thanks in advance for any tips or experiences! |

lolly8937:I just received the refusal letter I and the children were refused because my husband application was refused but I do not understand the reason for his refusal An agent did it for us and put his pension as other income ..Please note the exact amount is what he received as pension yearly . I am wondering is it a mistake from the agent ,is pension meant to be as other income ? We also uploaded 6months pension statement Are we meant to upload one year ? They didn’t state other reason for denial What can be done ? Please note my husband has been to Barcelona ,Maldrid ,Kenya ,Ghana ,Singapore and Dubai and we have also travelled together to Singapore and Dubai as family He’s also a house owner in Lagos with another landed property in ogun state which we submitted. Please my people help analyze it so we can know if to reapply or send an email to them and if it’s an email we should send ,kindly provide us the email address We just need suggestions because I felt we met all the requirements

Thank you very much for the detailed response . However we provided the 6months bank statements with the exact amount we stated in the form. The Jan -March salary was lower but there was salary reviews for 2025.and the salary was back dated and paid in april (which means all the difference was paid in April ) However from May ,he has been receiving the stated amount till date .We explained this in the cover letter and also attached the salary review doc and payslips for 6months . Anyway that’s bygone I just want to confirm if they are referring that we’ve not demonstrated how we are receipts for the salary and pension or are they saying it is for pension only ? Is the refusal letter referring to the pension alone or the pension and salary ? So we can know what to address in our next application. I will appreciate gurus in the house to help out . Thank you |

lolly8937:The 9.3m you stated as other income. Is this the pension? The little I know you are not in receipt of pension income until retirement or until you discontinue pension contributions then you can withdraw it less the tax/penalty amount, so how are you in receipt of this 9.3m as other income? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by lolly8937: 1:39pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
giselle237:Yes you are right ! This is the mistake the agent made He is claiming pension is other income even after the denial . We told him pension can never ever be other income ,even if he want to include pension income ,it should’ve been as a home ties not as other income . We now know better ,we are reapplying ourselves and addressing it . If you have any suggestions on how to address it ,please do let me know .I will really appreciate your help . |

Dear Nairalanders, I sincerely thank you for the invaluable insights and guidance you continue to provide on this platform. I recently submitted an application for a UK visitor visa to attend a two-day professional course. I have completed my biometrics and submitted all relevant documentation earlier this week. However, upon reviewing my application form, I noticed a few inadvertent errors which I would like to clarify: 1. Typographical Error in Child’s Name: I mistakenly listed the name of my third son (my last child) as the same as that of my second son, although their dates of birth were correctly stated and differ. 2. Errors in Visa Refusal Timeline: I correctly disclosed in the visa declaration section that I had previously been refused visas to Canada, the UK, and the US between 2018 and 2019. I also included the correct reference numbers for each application. However, I made two date-related errors: o I stated the date of my Canadian visa refusal as July 2019 instead of the correct date, July 2018. o I also misstated the date I was selected for a fellowship programme (which necessitated those visa applications) as September 2019 instead of September 2018. To provide further context, following the initial visa refusal by Canada, I reapplied, was granted a visa, and travelled to Canada and returned to Nigeria. Since then, I have travelled for professional engagements to several countries, majority of these trips sponsored by my employer: • Europe: Belgium (2019), Italy (2022), Netherlands (2023), and France (2024/I slept overnight from Morocco to catch a connecting flight to Nigeria). • Africa: Kenya and Morocco (both in 2024) and South Africa (February 2025). (While returning from Morocco, I had an overnight layover in Paris as my Schengen visa was still valid.) 4 of these trips were for short professional programmes on the same subject matter as the one I intend to attend in the UK, and they were fully sponsored by my employer. My Questions Are As Follows: 1. Are these errors considered material and likely to adversely affect the outcome of my current visa application? 2. Given that the substantive facts (including the correct visa refusal reference numbers and the nature of the programmes) were accurately disclosed, is it reasonable to hope that the Entry Clearance Officer (ECO) would view the date errors as genuine and non-material? 3. Alternatively, would it be advisable for me to notify the UK visa authorities about these errors? If so, what is the appropriate channel or procedure for submitting such a correction or clarification? I would greatly appreciate your kind advice on this matter, as well as any follow-up questions or suggestions from members of this community that could be helpful. Thank you once again for your time and support. |

Hello Guys, In my itinerary, I listed some tours that I'll be going on. Is it compulsory to attach booked tickets or reservation of the tours? I tried to make a reservation for the 'pay later' option, but my card is being declined. What do I do? |
