[quote author=Tjra post=136111487]That was one of Buhari's best legacies When E-Bpppola came on board, he shouted, Subsidy is gone. Yet, he had no idea how to manage the aftermath of subsidy removal. |

But you forget to tell the mobs that you are trying to gain sympathy from that he didn't budget for subsidy beyond June, 2023, before handing over. Basically, he removed it towards the end of his tenure so that the incoming president can shoulder the blame.

If PBAT would loose the Presidential Elections in 2027, it will be hinged around the unsequenced and abrupt removal of the PMS subsidy. An economic analyst describes what the Presidency did as the removal of the tooth of a patient without analstelsia and expecting the patient not to complain of pain. The price of staples like Rice have begun an upward trajectory once again whilst the major feedback from Farmers remain input cost & transport cost directly affected by the PMS subsidy removal. Government in the last twenty four (24) months has lost over $20B through closure of SMEs and exit of multinationals and saved $10B from the PMS subsidy removal. Infact, NNPC according to Gov. Hope Uzodinma was not remitting any monies to the federation through FAAC for nine (9) months making it difficult to track subsidy claims expense whilst the FIRS held forth. PMS subsidy removal should have given birth to a PTF or SURE-P establishment where priority programmes would be targeted for the shocks Nigerians currently experience. The Governors who are the major beneficiary are not as accountable and transparent with distributable revenues with over-invoiced contract and fraudulent palliative programmes. |

What about closure of the borders which led to the skyrocketing of prices of staple, everyday food? Didn't that lead to the unimaginable loss of lives and livelihood? Buhari's govt was a failure. His wife even confirmed that he wasn't in charge. He's lucky Tinubu's government is worse than his, though Tinubu has what he (Buhari) no longer have - time and opportunity. So make nobody bobo us. A man doesn't become a saint, or even a good man just because he's dead! |

In the 2023 budget, the Buhari administration allocated funds for fuel subsidy only for the first half of the year—January to June. But trust them to talk from both sides of their mouth—anything to confuse the gullible and push their agenda. |

dre11:Can someone tell the Buhari boys that the umbrella covering them has been taken away and it's not going to be business as usual from next week? They have forgotten that Buhari's influence was the reason the current Government was laying low because PBAT wouldn't want to offend PMB so as not to present a divided front. Besides, Tinubu might be considering his late partner's endorsement in the next election. Fast forward to July 15, Buhari has been buried. These crook basket mouths who ruined the country for eight years with Buhari should prepare for something big coming to them. Their stewardship is about to be opened for all Nigerians to see and most of them will run katakata out of Nigeria and many of them will forfeit their properties to the Government. Their day of reckoning is here. Funny enough, they won't be able to play the opposition card successfully. Not with Bola. |

KaLuCh:I don't support any political side, and I am not an APC member (and you insult me by implying I support tinubu, because it shows you don't understand my message here). I supported subsidy till 2011, when I finally sat down and read about it, and then became anti-subsidy. |

He was a failure, period. We like to worship failures in these parts of the world. Buhari had no business as a state governor talk less of a president. |

It is just the type of politics we practice in this part of the world. By 2023, there are few rail lines in place, both Federal and state owned. Dangote refinery was ready to roll out production. The CNG was already getting popular . Solar and other source of energy too. What all these mean is that alternative to petrol was already created . So, the background for removing the subsidy which everyone agrees is a drain and stranglehold on our economy was already laid. Unlike in 2012 when most of these measures were not in place. Buhari really tried. The Presidency is a tankless job . But those who know, knows and appreciate his contribution. |

Same buhari that together with tinubu told 200m people that fuel subsidy was a scam? He now increases fuel price and this guy says we should be grateful? Someone should remind God's punishment for the wicked is eternal, not a few years in jail and come back to enjoy your money. |

This one think he's talking to fools. Same Buhari that removed provisions for fuel subsidy in the second half of his last budget so as to set up his successor, is the one that didn't want people to die. Tinubu had no choice than to proceed with subsidy removal as the budget he inherited already had subsidy taken off. |
