Will it any way affect treasurybill investors? If my investment get matured and capital returned to my account, the FIRS should see the source of the inflows and shouldn't tax me.

It's not actually a new thing that the rate is going down. It's a normal movement. So let's be prepared.

The TBills rate is determined by the economic situation of the country in terms of borrowing status of the government. Whatever rate the CBN comes up with through the decision at the MPC meetings determines the rate of Tbills. The lower the MPR, the lower the rate of Tbills and vice versa.

For those of us who could take a little more risk, you can look at the way of fundamentally sound and dividend-paying stocks, with that, you are sure your money will still be working for you.

However, stocks are better enjoyed when you have a long-term view, unlike Tbills which is a short-term instrument.

My aim remains to keep earning my Monthly expenditure from passive income without touching my salary. Anything short of 20% for Money market now eh, I go start the dig into my Alawi. It's always safer and advisable to go with the bank rate at this time. At a time like this, with a downward trend in rates, even the bank is not very sure, but still better than trying to bid individually.

It's current the stop rate for last auction might still be retained or prolly improved on slightly. One determinant also is the result of the MPC if they decide to retain MPR at 27.5 or reduce further.

You can look into Commercial paper(companies with good ratings and well known), you can look into stocks if you can take the risk or invest in fixed deposit with rate higher than what tbills is doing currently.

In all, always diversify your investment.. Fixed income, stocks if you can, usd if you have etc

But boss, most of these big banks shares at the end of the day equals near zero.
What is often made is next to nothing.

Seek knowledge and you will understand the benefits of investing in stocks, but only if your risk tolerance is high and you understand how it works.
