They sent me a message on how to connect to the MTN network sometimes last week when I mailed them to help me rollover my data plan but I ignored it because the line was not in any phone. I didn't go about it till last night and ever since then it's been smooth, hitch-free browsing, I didn't even need to restart my phone. Something I've not experienced on the network in years! I hope it remains like this. The over of 20gb regular data and 40gb night data they wiped off when their network was unavailable still day pain sha

I recharged yesterday via bank app and got credited almost immediately. I've not been able to check my account or data balance though. I was browsing yesterday when I got a message that I've exhausted my bonus data. I didn't even know I was given bonus data🤷🏽‍♀️

Once you do a manual search and see the available networks select MTN NG (4G/3G/2G) even if it displays forbidden. After this, restart your phone and you will be able to use your line so long as it is still active on the network.
For those whose numbers have been deactivated due to prolonged non usage, you will need to visit their centre or send a request via any of their media platform to make a request, you can send a mail to care@9mobile.com.ng

You are considering buying sim of a dead network? Go for another network. Because of 9mobile, I can't access my watsapp for one year now, because due to their poor Network, I was unable to update my watsapp, my watsapp was outdated, right now can't even use my MTN to restore my old messages I'm stocked.

I really like their network... more reason I have not swapped my sim to another network.

I tried using OPay to recharge... it reversed back... so maybe I will try my main bank app

Instead of just porting 9mobile, why not just convert 9mobile to a ground station for starlink.

Glo and Etisalat network data almost the same...their datas are quite cheap

All the mtn networks mentioned in this post is showing forbidden after scanning so i wonder which network roaming 9mobile is doing??

As an avid 9mobile user like many people, I've been following this their news of roaming on MTN network. In fact, it should have been done since last year I think but due to regulatory issues (with NCC and National Assembly) which they've finally resolved.

For those who don't understand the whole deal, what it means is 9mobile will be using MTN's infrastructure that enables their (MTN own customers) to be able to make and receive calls to increase their own reach and have good network coverage and strength again.

Meanwhile, in return, MTN will be using 9mobile OG infrastructure from the early Etisalat days that were built for improved network in densely populated areas or during bad weather.

If you remember well, in the 2010s, Etisalat, unlike others doesn't suffer bad network when it is raining or in congested places like Ikeja computer village. It's because of the advanced infrastructure they had at that time.

This is what MTN too will be getting to use in return for allowing 9mobile to roam on their network.

So, it's a "scratch my back, I scratch your back" kind of deal and we the customers will be the one to benefit.

9mobile is currently running smoothly after sealing a roaming deal with MTN Ng making users able to use their sim and line once again..

How to get your 9mobile running...
To reconnect your 9mobile Line, Go to Phone Settings>Mobile Networks>Operators>turn off Automatic select>Choose 9mobile or MTN 4G or MTN NG or 62130. Thank you ..

I haven't been able to use my 9mobile line for over 7months after I left my previous location. Immediately I followed the instruction it started working.

My shows "Forbidden". It doesn't work on my phone.

I just discovered you can't, I discovered this post today and immediately I tried the process OP shared up there it worked. Then I proceeded to send PORT to 3233, guess what you can't send out SMS. Will give them few weeks and see, if I still can't, will email NCC and report them.

It showed me same thing at first and I clicked on 4Gnetwork, about a minute later it started processing and worked.....Be patient, try it again it will work.

No, you don't need to have MTN sim on the phone. Step down your network to 2G and try the process again or you can do it on another different phone and then insert the 9mobile sim back to your phone.
