AND HISTORY WAS MADE:

On Wednesday 20th January 2022, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, decorated his son, Adeboye Obasanjo with the rank of Brigadier General following his promotion from the rank of Colonel.

The event took place at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Engineering Corps, Lagos.
Chief Obasanjo is himself a retired Army General, former Military Head of State and two term Civilian President.

It was a moment of joy and more of a reincarnation of one’s self while still alive. A father’s proud moment.

Adeboye holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Electronics) degree from the Nigerian Defense Academy and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Mississippi Valley State University, USA.

He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration & Information System from Jackson State University, USA.

He also holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan. Not many Generals have been alive to decorate their children as Generals.

See the semblance. This is the joy of every parents - sharing the joy of their children promotion especially in the military. I remember my cousin POP @ the NDA years back.

Meanwhile, Obasanjo was in the Nigerian Army Engineers(Sappers) and his son was also enlisted into the same corps. I guess the headquarters is the one in Bonny Camp VI. Cheers Obasanjos.

The good thing is his son did it the hard way. He has risen through the ranks one by one with no political appointments or promotions.

Also, like his father, he went and fought a war, though he got injured and was almost killed. Big props to Brigadier General Obasanjo, he is making his people proud .

At the expense of ordinary Nigerians. I knew when this man was busy Increasing fuel money and students going on strike with reckless abandon. So all this while, his children were studying abroad. One of his daughters was even a senator in those days before they fought. Yet some of his supposedly "kinsmen" will be singing his praise to the high heavens

His secondary school was NMS. Once you are in and do well, it's almost certain you will be able to join the military as an officer when you finish.

Olusegun Obasanjo, a great man. A detribalised Nigerian like no other politically exposed person in this country. Loved and respected by many and hated by the few bitter persons who he only disagree politically.
His love for Nigeria pushed him to try and change the constitution for a third tenure, which is wrong though.
However, if he had succeeded, who knows, perhaps we won't have the opportunity of having the disasters we had as president since 2015, more especially the fake akantant that divided the Atlantic Ocean who have wrecked everything, making the lanky clueless and docile General a saint.

You have the right to your own opinion. However, Obasanjo remains the father of modern day Nigeria. Whenever God calls him the news will shake the entire world.
Did you read or hear any world leader send any condolences to Tinubu and Nigerians about the passing of the lanky General? No!

Obasanjo laid the foundation for modern day Nigeria.

MTN, Airtel and Glo replacing NITEL the Dinasor.
Proposed privatization of Nigeria Refineries.
Proposed privatization of NEPA.
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)
National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)
Nigeria Institute of Information and Technology (NIIT)
PTDF overseas Scholarship
Poverty Alleviation Program
Agriculture Innovation (Cassava Exporter)
And much more......

All these are stand alone institutions that are not party affiliated, but National Development Programs.

He knew how to get benefits across to the common man.

Since he left office, no sustainable program for Nigerians has ben initiated.

All program so far has been for political benefits and segmentation of Nigeria.

RUGA, YouWin, etc. Segmentation and Godfather Allegiance Program.

Yeah through connections. Why didn't IBBs son use connection to get to that rank, or Abacha or Diya, Buhari, David Mark, Yar Adua, Useni, Ojukwu etc. It was once said that Mohammed Abacha was in and out of NDA twice. Connection is needed to get in, but you need more than connection to stay in and to get to that rank.. Omo! E no easy.
