I disagree with most of what op wrote here especially number one Nigeria didn't move on the complains of election fraud,the electoral law establishes election petition tribunal that listen to election fraud petitions and many political parties and politicians always makes use of it during electioneering time.

The country wasn't this bad in my primary school stage of life

Mostly the fact is, most people don't want to vote for change from the old parties, they just want to continue with the same old, same old.

Honestly, I stopped believing in rigging after the 2003 elections, when I told people I voted for one of the smaller parties...and people laughed at me. Yet, these are the same people who tomorrow , we would have long discussions about the bad government and the need to change it.

The fact is, most nairalanders on this site are campaigning for the corrupt politicans, not just APC. I see people come and call APC evil, yet support people from the other side who are just as bad as APC. And I see people who were opposing PDP when they were in power, and then when Buhari took over, they became so pro-government that it was amusing. And now they back tinubu.

But ask them to vote in someone new, or to look at the smaller parties, they no go gree. ADC has been around for ages, they even ran candidates in 2019 and 2023, yet no one looked at them until a section of the same political elite migrated there.

Honestly we are not serious as a people.

I now understand why some people think I support tinubu...it is because they are campaigning for their own tinubu. Their own political elite man. Thus, they use my views on subsidy for example...to hit tinubu. They don't listen when I tell them that my eyes were opened about subsidy in 2011, and that I thought the ojota crowd were being silly and lacked understanding, and yes, back then I was not supporting PDP....AND STILL DON'T....because if they can show their man is on 'the side of the people' they win a lot of likes.

And yes, tinubu is a part of the corrupt elite. Never voted for him, never will, think he and buhari were both hypocrites for supporting subsidy. Good that their support bit them well well. Had they kept shut in 2012, maybe nigerians would be reaping the benefit, and maybe by now there would be three dangote style refineries....maybe not.

But there is no such thing as rigging . Nigerians support the corrupt political class. What we are squabbling about is whether we should support the APC or the ADC.

(And even things like biafra have been used as a means to an end. Funny to see people chanting biafra until election time, then they support some corrupt northerner who was against secession!)
