1.) Biden didn't control the DOJ.
Pre-Trump Presidents put up a wall between themselves and the DOJ. This was a post Watergate lesson.
Since the DOJ would have been in charge of investigations, the President asking them to release them would have been an overtly political act esp. if someone like Trump was in it.
Crazy how those norms seem passe now.

2.) The DOJ usually doesn't release investigatory materials on people it doesn't prosecute.
If they think they can get a conviction, they charge the person. If they don't think they can get a conviction, they keep the info private.
Since there is a huge power difference between anyone and the US Government, someone who has info released about them has no real means to challenge that info outside court. So releasing the info would/should be seen as harassment.
Crazy people seem not to care about this anymore.

3.) A lot of this info has already been released. We know Trump was good friends with Epstein. It seems something MAGA is just learning.
