Pls do I need to upgrade to Premium before I can invest any amount on stanbic MMF?

Secondly the registration process is stressful.

Both on blue nest and stanbic mobile 3.

Stanbic mobile 3 keeps telling me to bind my device but it's not working after inputting the OTP

Really weird that FBNQuest let their website hosting expire. Very unprofessional of a fund manager, or it had better be part of their user data integration project.

You might not neccessarily need to visit the bank branch, simple download the Stanbic IBTC mobile 3.0 app, click on BluNest and then 'create instant account' or visit https://blunest.stanbicibtcassetmanagement.com/ and click on 'SignUp for Free'. You don't need to have any account in stanbic, you can use any other bank account you have.

Click the first link in my signature to open MMF account with Stanbic IBTC Asset Management or the second link with First Ally Asset Management.

To operate any money market fund, you can use any commercial bank where you have an account. You can also fund your MMF from any bank account that bears your name and is linked with your BVN, but you can only receive funds whenever you make a withdrawal or when receiving your returns into the only registered bank account during registration.

That is not very correct. Understand that stanbic ibtc bank and stanbic asset management are two different companies with different interest and line of business, they only belong to the same holding company but operation wise they are different.

Sincerely going to a stanbic ibtc bank doesn't necessarily make you closer to stanbic asset management. Most of us assume the otherwise.
Stanbic Asset management will never ask you for money to register your account online. The method of collecting deposits is very straightforward with their collection account made available or a stanbic ibtc wallet which bears your name.

I know many folks here i have to help them out when they were almost frustrated as they went to the bank to open MMF account.
For days and some weeks no headway, main while within 24hrs then account are opened online.

Currently with the BluNest, life is even made easier. Your account is open instantly with basic status and becomes premium when you submit your kyc.

I just felt I should give some clarity and not ruling out the fact that one should be careful online generally.

You just confirmed what I posted earlier. The jobs and operations of those firms differ. You were directed that way because that's where to get what you needed or requested. The method of subscription to Tbills and MMF is not the same. Before now, you couldn't buy Tbills from the asset management, but this is now possible with the new platform - BluNet, and even at that, it's only the secondary market that is available through BluNet.

High yield investment is only available for premium customers under bloom. In other words, your funds must exceed 10 million and kept for 30 days to qualify to be a bloom premium customer.
Good morning boss, what does bloom offers? Are they still mmf or managed equity investments? Whats the gap in return like compared to the mulberry plan?
Also can i move funds in the mulberry plan to the high yield plan after the 30days holding period?
Want to be sure its something worth exploring.

Many thanks.

Good evening, boss.
1. Bloom offers higher return.
2. Yes, MMF.
3. Bloom return is currently less than 1% compared to the regular.
4. You can move funds to the high yield plan.

Some factors that determine where you put your money:

There are different forms of investment windows with different returns. The one you decide to invest in will be determined by these factors:

1. Risk appetite: No matter how profitable an investment seems, it’s the risk tolerance of the investor that dictates the type of instrument to invest in. The saying “the higher the risk, the higher the returns” holds in most cases

2. Investment objective: what you intend to achieve could be immediate or futuristic (short, medium, or long term), this will determine if you want stocks, bonds, mutual funds etc

3. Experience and knowledge: How well you know where you want to put your money, in most cases, determines your success or failure.

4. Age: All things being equal, it’s advised to do less risky investments when getting older and vice versa.

5. Funds available for investment: This will determine the type/form of investment you can do; it will be ridiculous to think of real estate
investment when you are starting with, say, 50k. An investment in a mutual fund or stocks will be better instead; that is not to say real estate is not a good investment, but your funds are not ripe for it.

6. Investment duration: In most cases, the longer the duration/tenor, the higher the profit

Don’t forget there are always exceptions to the norms.

Forms of investment:

Real estates
Stocks
Mutual funds (REITS, MMF, Fixed income fund, balance fund, equity fund, faith-based/ethical funds)
Treasury bills
Bonds
Commercial papers

NB: The primary aim of investment is to make a profit. However, some of the factors and types of investment, as stated above, will determine the level of your profit/returns

In investment, beware of Greed and Fear.
Fear will stop you from making the money you ought to make
While greed will cause you to lose the money you have already made.

Remember to always check my signature for online account opening for any form of mutual funds, stocks, etc, with Investment One, Stanbic Asset Management, First Ally, or i-invest

He is right. They are different. If care is not taken, there are times it's you that would be telling the bank staff things they hearing for the first time. The fact they work in the bank, doesn't mean a lot of them ever know what's called MMF or Money Market Fund or even treasury Bills.

The person who directed you obviously is both correct and ill informed and that's because except you intends buying from 50 million and above, you could buy from Stanbic Asset management though Treasury bills primarily are sold by banks

yes Stanbic IBTC uses a UBA account as collection account. The account info MUST be
Bank Name: UBA
Account No:1023413552

would even suggest they register via their main website then use the app to login if they want. And when it comes to links, ensure it's the actual website url.

If in doubt, their url is on my signature below

You don't need to have bank account with either or any of them. Just ensure you at least got a bank account even if it's ecoBank or whatever.

As per how to get started, either go through forum threads or get in touch with me. Additionally, you could go through the link on my signature - it's for Stanbic IBTC and you must not own an account with them

if said account name has your Full Name as Account Name, then it's the virtual account. You could either confirm from support via phone call or make a test payment (say 1,000 naira) into it.

The UBA account is not the personalized account.

It's the collection account where all investors deposit their funds into and that is the normal traditional way to fund your mutual fund account.
It's always a bank that is not related to the fund manager in any way. This is done for checks and balances and to add more safety to your funds.

Every other methods of funding is just to make the process simpler, convenient and a bit more personalized.

For every fund, the following parties must be involved

1. The fund manager
2. Custodian bank which is the collection account
3. Trustees that also checkmate and make sure money in and out is according to the rules and doesn't contradict the fund's MOU. If you noticed, the collection account always have two names on the account name, the second name is the Trustees'
4. SEC. This is the arm through which government controls the fund.

Note: Be skeptical or run from any fund that don't have the above four parties.
