On weekends and some other days, I go home to check on my parents, and most of the time, I'll buy fruit for my mom. But it doesn't matter how much I spend on it, she will always find the time to give me food before I head out. I’ve spent a long time trying to understand why mothers behave this way, and I've come to realize it's unconditional love in its purest form. It makes you think that it doesn't matter how rich you become, and even if it were the end of the world, your mom is one of the only people who would always make sure you have food. ![]() |

Aifrobeats:Are you saying that father's don't love their children. This is how mother's trickishly win the children's heart while neglecting the real bread winner. The woman will make the man's labour unfelt by the children. Men should wise up |

Every African with the spirit of humanity and care normally does that, it's not only mothers. My uncle will feed you until there's no place for your stomach to digest the food and still give you a takeaway afterwards... The entire family would usually commend him on his feeding skills... ![]() His wife used to complain about it in the beginning, but she has now made peace with it since he's the one buying the grocery... ![]() |

Whenever I inform my mum I'm coming home she MUST prepare my favorite meal. White rice and catfish stew or catfish pepper soup. One thing I have noticed about mothers is that even if you've got grey hairs already they still regard you as their baby.....You don't ever grow up in their eyes. |

Celestialsword:Only a fõölish woman does that. This most times happen if they've divorced and the woman is in custody of the children. |

Celestialsword:And who is stopping the father from showing care to his children? Who is stopping the father from trickishly winning their children's hearts? If you're unable to bond with your children, it's all on you. Blame no one but yourself for your bad parenting. |

Aifrobeats:Never take that kind of love for granted. The world can be cold and transactional, but your mother’s love is one of the few places where you’ll find warmth without condition. It’s not about the fruit you buy or the money you spend—it’s about the connection, the care, and the little gestures that speak louder than words. So keep showing up. Keep buying her those fruits. Keep honoring her while you still can. One day, you’ll look back and realize that these small moments were the big moments. Also, learn from it. The same way she gives to you without expecting anything, try to reflect that same spirit into the relationships you build—whether as a partner, friend, or future parent. The world desperately needs more people who love like that. And finally, appreciate her with words too, not just actions. Tell her, “Mom, I see what you’re doing. I feel it. And I love you for it.” That alone can mean more to her than anything money can buy. |
