I joined the waiting list by March 28th
Sharpyyyyyyyyy:
Since you’ve not submitted, that means you’re still on the waitlist. When did you join the waitlist?

I guess that would be the next set to be asked to submit. How many months is showing as your estimated wait time?

It’s getting really slow. Almost 2 months just for march. Hmmm

Good morning guys, please I need your inputs. I graduated 2017, studied biochemistry. Since then I have been teaching until 2022 when I was able to enter the banking sector. You know how the country is, most times we don't end up working in our field of study. I will complete my MBA next year March by God's grace. Please I want to know if I stand the chance in this hustle considering my field of study and where I'm working. I'm also learning German on Duolingo. I will also appreciate if you can give the step by step approach to apply, thank you.

Hi Hannania or anyone who can help. If the name of your course isn’t showing fully in Anabin, how do you convince them it’s the same during review? Especially if they’ve given you a deadline to submit recognition of degree. Please it’s urgent.
Apply for recognition and show them the proof and they'll give you time. There's no way around it

Thank you for taking your time to reply but honestly I don't know anything about the list based mode, how do I get it? I'm totally a novice in this.

Hello Hannania,

My friend sent this link https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/appointment_showMonth.do?locationCode=lago&realmId=1298&categoryId=3101&dateStr=19.08.2025 to me yesterday to book my appointment. He said the embassy updated their website hence the delay in inviting people. Don’t know how true it is but I checked and saw the Chancenkarte option and selected it and booked for early August. The embassy sent me a confirmation email.

I joined early May but haven’t gotten to the preliminary stage yet. Should I still proceed to the interview? I have every other requirements. Also, if I have a Zab, what other documents should I take to the interview? My friend wants to get me a 3 months health insurance. Would that be accepted? Can I decide when to fly? Will 2026 January be considered too late? I need your urgent response and advice.

If you've not been checked for preliminary review and you book an appointment, be rest assured it's gonna end badly for your application when you meet the VO.

You'll pass Mr Paulinus because it will of course be a valid appointment, but you're meant to get this link after preliminary review. Your friend is mischievous and should not have shared this link with you until you've been cleared to book an appointment at the embassy.

Find attached the instructions on the appointment booking link for OC and new student applications. Look at the conditions of booking an appointment again and ask yourself if you really want your application rejected and you joining the queue all over again.

Thank you @Hannania for your response. Given this situation, what do I do?

I also asked other questions in my previous posts. Kindly reply.

Just wait for your turn. As long as your exact course is on Anabin or you have ZAB and SL/BA, your application is 💯. Appointment booking for opportunity card is always available on a weekly basis as long as you've been cleared. There's no rush for OC. The real issue is landing a job. Please use that time to start learning German

Yes, I have everything ready. I’m already learning the language. Do I cancel the appointment or just deliberately miss it? And will this booking I made have any impact on my OC application?

Just cancel it for now. It will have no effect

Thank you for your support

I have someone in Berlin who wants to help with declaration of commitment.

Which office should the person check in Berlin?

Do I need to have a German language certificate before the (DOC) would be issued?

The location in Berlin is B 5 at the Keplerstrasse 2 location in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Ask your sponsor to use this link and apply. It's totally online until your appointment:
https://service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/326540/

He/she will fill some details about you(just your international passport is enough), salary, house etc

No, you don't need German. That's based on your visa application here in the Nigerian consulate. For
Verpflichtungserklärung, your sponsor's creditworthiness will be checked

Good day bosses,
I am interested in the opportunity card and I have a few questions
- as a HND holder, is it statement on a foreign vocational qualification I will use?
- Do I upload only HND cert and transcripts or both ND and HND?
- As HND holder what do I qualify for in opportunity card route?
-For context I studied Electrical Engineering but I have over 5 years experience as business analyst.

Previously, only Universities of Technology such as FUTMINNA, FUTA, FUTO, ATBU Bauchi and FUTYola were issuing B.eng in different engineering disciplines. First generation universities were issuing B.Sc(Some still do until this day).

So the recognition on Anabin is currently Bsc in Mechanical engineering. If it's B.eng on your certificate, please apply and simultaneously pay for ZAB. This way, you're on a safe side if it happens that the VO that attends to you during preliminary review is strict.

All you need is DAB which cost €150 for those with vocational education (HND is vocationally categorised in Germany). With this, you qualify as a skilled worker and all you need is your SL/BA. When apply, you can apply as a business analyst, which means you have to submit motivational letter and CV to show this

You can open your block account and snap the page and upload. Please don't block yet until you've been called to send for preliminary review. You can block your account from 24hrs to 5 days depending on the provider
Please what if SL came through while waiting to block the account?

Goethe institute is the best. That way you learn to write the exam too

I think only your HND is sufficient, but you can check DAB for further confirmation.
