Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027.

The governor, In a statement, announced their endorsement of President Tinubu for the 2027 re-election, acknowledging him as a distinguished son of the state.

The statement reads: “Yesterday, I met with the

Leadership Caucus in Osogbo after weeks of consultations with stakeholders across Osun — from traditional rulers and civil servants to market leaders and grassroots party members.

“I’m pleased to share the resolutions:

“I remain in the PDP, the party that gave me the platform to serve the good people of Osun.

“I have been unanimously endorsed by the Osun PDP for a second term in 2026.

“PDP remains the most popular and trusted party across Osun State.

“I will continue to deliver on our Five-Point Agenda with renewed focus and dedication.

I hope Tinubu will now go ahead to finally release the local government allocations as ruled by the courts. Endorsements through coercion and inducements is not something to celebrate but that's where we've found ourselves in Tinubu’s democracy.

Yes. Aregbesola would get good numbers for ADC in Osun State notwithstanding. ADC is not projecting to win the state in the presidential elections but its doable.

Those who don't politics are just over hyping ADC. Atiku's pdp faction are the ones that has joined ADC and pdp still remains. Few frings APC joined them. In 2027, pdp will just endorsed Tinubu for president and that is game over. Atiku with the presidential ticket and obi going back to labour or contesting on another platform will get the least votes. If he decides to deputize Atiku then he is finished politically. No pdp governor is ready to join ADC and that speak volumes cos they know it is Atiku arrangement and he will definitely pick the ticket

I Remain Fully In PDP’, Adeleke Says After Defection Negotiation With APC Fails

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reinvigorated his awareness to the people of the state of his membership in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

There has been speculation that the governor was moving to the opposition All Progressives Congress after meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

Also, the recent defection of two Osun State senators from the PDP to the APC has heightened the rumoured defection of the governor, as the movement of the senators was described as an advance party for Adeleke.

However, sources have revealed that the governor’s negotiation with top APC politicians to actualise his defection has failed to yield desired results.

It was gathered that some top APC officials, leading the negotiations, have hit a brick wall as the Osun APC group is hellbent on not allowing the governor to join the party.

A chieftain of APC and former Osun State Deputy Governor, Iyiola Omisore, had said the party had rejected the governor’s bid to take membership of APC.

Speaking at the flag-off of the second phase of the dualisation of Osogbo -Ikirun-Kwara boundary road on Monday, Adeleke told residents and party supporters that he remains in the party.

Dismissing rumour over his defection move, Adeleke said, “I remain fully in PDP.”

Osun: I’m not leaving PDP — Gov Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has refuted his rumoured defection, saying he is going nowhere but remains in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Governor Adeleke made this known on Monday after the flag-off of the dualisation of the 3.5km Ila township road in Ila-Orangun, adding that his promised path is to serve the people and that he would not relent in doing so.

He expressed happiness over the inauguration of the dualisation of the Ila township road project despite what he described as the lingering uncertainties in the nation.

The governor said he had vowed to God and the good people of the state that he is committed to serving them and would never be distracted from the vow to serve the people of the state.

He boasted that his administration has so far completed the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and renovation of over 175 kilometres of roads, while several dualisation and flyover projects are at various stages of completion across the state.

According to him, the completion of the dualisation of the Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe and finally Ila Odo road, which is the boundary town with neighbouring Kwara State, a total length of 39km, is of paramount importance to his administration, expressing commitment to the completion of the project.

“I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain in the party. I’m not going anywhere.

“The second phase, which we are flagging off today, is almost the same length as what was completed in 12 years. By the grace of God, we intend to deliver this project within 12 months.

“Our gathering here to witness the materialisation of a new era is not an accident of history. We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are, and what we will be in the future,” he said.

In the 2023 election, nearly 30 APC members were kílléd in an attempt to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lost in Osun State.

It seems they found a middle ground.

APC people don’t want Adeleke in APC so what they did is to reach a truce and allow everyone to be in their party and work for the president.

Then FG will leave them alone and be neutral.

APC don’t seem to get it in Osun state, you cannot defeat Adeleke. Democracy is not science, you may be a mediocre governor and yet the people can still love you. Adeleke is just lucky.

Gov. Adeleke will not want to be in the same camp with Aregbe, rather than supporting ADC he chose APC. This wike style of politics na wa o, you will be in one party and be working for or supporting another party, it's very weird. Advanced countries like America and UK does not play this kind of politics in their Democracy. What kind of politics or legacy are these politicians laying down, Politics without ideology, Politics of personal interest.
