Since 1999 no region has been strangulated politically the way Jonathan and his cabal strangulated the Yorubas, Jonathan buried them but true strategic alliance and critical thinking the sprouted and became and iroko.

In 2011, after Tinubu supported Jonathan for the presidency, Jonathan and PDP zoned the speakership of the House of Representatives to Southwest.

Now, Jonathan did not only zone it to Southwest, they also zeroed it to Mulikat Adeola, a woman from Oyo state.

However, for reasons best known to Tinubu and his men, he kicked against that choice.

Do you know what he did? He directed about 30 ACN House of Rep members who were mostly from Southwest, to throw their weight behind Aminu Tambuwal, northerner from Northwest, to defeat Jonathan’s candidate who is from Southwest.

On the day of the inauguration of the House, the entire North threw their weight behind Tambuwal. With the ACN Reps from Southwest and others from East, Tambuwal won and Mulikat lost.

But today you people like this guy who opened this thread trying to rewrite history by blatantly telling lies to the world.

It has never been about the good of Southwest for Tinubu but about what will serve his purpose.

Thank you. Tinubu purposefully set that narrative of "Southwest victimisation" by preventing any Southwesterner from holding an influential position in Jonathan's government. He sabotaged Mulikat Akande in favour of Tambuwal only to turn around, using Southwest propaganda media to accuse Jonathan of abandoning the Southwest. This was the grounds with which he launched his power shift to the Southwest, but first, he had to do so by using Buhari’s advantage to first wrestle power from Jonathan while strategically holding the Vice position.

It is this political dexterity and playing the long game that is currently lacking in the Southeast. They still play the emotional kind of politics when what they need is strategic alliance, long-term vision and stooping to conquer. In the end, they always back the wrong horse and get left behind, holding the short end of the stick. Today, their most influential politician is taking strategic advise from jobbers like Aisha Yesufu, Serah Ibrahim and other opportunists who are only after campaign funds.
