truthfinder4u:
Snakes have different names due to several factors, including regional variations in common names, scientific naming conventions, and the use of descriptive names based on physical characteristics or behavior. Scientific names, in particular, are used to avoid confusion and ensure accurate identification, especially when dealing with snakes that may have multiple common names or varying appearances.
It's better to ask what is the species of this snake than ask what's the name of this snake

Like when you see a goat, and you asked what is the name of this goat

Or a dog, it can be confusing

Please NL what is the name of this snake I killed in my compound, I'm being disturbed if it's a dangerous snake
The pattern on its back suggests that this is a viper. I believe its a puff adder. And yes, it is venomus and would probably atack if you step on it by mistake. They are usually very small snakes.

It's a snake

You mean what species, not the name

I doubt if snakes have names
Snakes have names, but not in the same way that humans do. They have both common names and scientific names. Common names are the ones used in everyday language to refer to different species of snakes, like "garter snake" or "rattlesnake". Scientific names are used by scientists to classify and identify snakes, and they follow a binomial nomenclature system, consisting of a genus and species name, like Thamnophis sirtalis for the common garter snake. While snakes don't understand or respond to names in the same way a human would, these names are important for identification and communication within the scientific community and among those who work with snakes.

The specy in my local parlance is referred to as 'the palm fruits I am about to process must not see the next day', meaning that any body the snake bites may not survive, though unless grievously harmed, it rarely bites.

I should be because there could still be many ones out there
Anywhere you find this specie of snake, there are more around there. And they are very vengeful.

You have to be very careful around there going forward.

Yes I actually understand you

But it's confusing when someone asks you for the name of a particular dog

Do they mean the breed or it's personal name

It's really better to say, what breed is this dog

I stayed in a compound some years ago, we only had two trees, one short bitter leave and a coconut tree. No bush or grass or trees close by.

Until one day we found a peeled skin of a snake. I wondered where it came from. Not too long at night, my neighbour killed a tiny snake.

Since there was no bush around us, common sense told us that the parent reside in that compound and the only suspected place was the coconut tree.

We brought in aboki to climb and investigate only to found two big snakes living on the tree.

It was drama that day the aboki nearly fall, we had to called in expert and cut down the coconut tree before killing both snakes. cool

They must have lived there for many years.. I presumed they sneaked out at night to eat rodent and return up there.
That’s it. They eat rodents and flies..

But the thing is... The snake that shed the skin don leave your premises. It wasn’t among those 2 big snakes you caught. Whenever snakes wants to leave an habitat, it will shed skin - it’s their own form or appreciation to that habitat. And, once a snake shed skin, that particular snake will never return back to that habitat. It has left there for life and it appreciate, never coming back..

Those 2 big snakes you caught were yet to shed skin, if they had, they would have left as well..

Life is just amazing bro. Many things you’ll experience in life to understand life is amazing..

The money is tempting but who want to catch it alive? I have killed 10 that means I lost 700k grin
I do gather courage to kill it by pouring fuel on it then cut the head with cutlass. I always move with cutlass in the morning but it's not easy
I get..

They’ve seen you before you saw them but they didn’t just come for you - usually, they don’t cuz that’s their style..

But ma’am, how do you get to live where you see snakes often? Do you guys have maize plantation close to you?

Being venomous is never the question here, what matters is running for safety whenever you see a snake you are unable to kill. And yes, thank God you were able to kill this

And I was told vipers are highly venomous
Vipers are really venomous and dangerous to come across with.. That's where most deadly squads in the military got their names from.
