Why now, after Liverpool have already bought Ekitike? LFC will still bid but only if Diaz is sold.

Same sentiment but will Osimhen accept? He won't, their options are Yoane Wissa and Lois Openda

I think it is high time some structures are fitted in place for this league. A foundation that doesn't care about whose ox is gored or slaughtered.

If a club can't meet minimum requirements to be at the peak of Nigerian club football, they should face the consequences and get out, declare bankruptcy and just shift abeg.

The top division doesn't need this kind of drama. Let such drama thrive in NNL or NLO or any other N outside the NPFL. But once we are in the NPFL, if you try to mess up or hide behind some nepo moves or incompetence, then the rules that are on minimum requirements should take the fore

CHAN Eagles squad
Chelle has removed the Rangers/Remo Stars dominance. BTW, I would have thought certain players like Papa Daniel should have played CHAN before jetting out.
@Basco what's your assessment of the squad list by Chelle? I really like Atule and Ayomide Cole but they were dropped. Wishing the team all the best.

Not happening.

Osimhen to United is still the biggest possibility.

Newcastle will go for both Sesko and Wissa.

That leaves United with one less target once more.

Note that Aston Villa has already blocked Watkins departure.

So all United need to do is reduce demands for Garnacho and ADL will completely block out Gala.

Then they increase wage offer to Osimhen.

United just getting egg on their face, Cunha and Mbeumo are good, but Amorim’s system cannot function without a 9.

But why can't oshimen agent push for this...

His agent can go discuss possibilities of getting him with this EPL teams nah.

Oshimen in epl will be magic and with the presence of gyokerees, isak and Harland it will be blazing hot

You know how much the agent is getting from this Gala deal?
Why settle for less money.

It's on Osimhen and United.
One party has to bulge.

Osimehn is way too advanced with Gala to bulge, so it's on United

Slovenian top-flight side NK Celje has confirmed the signing of Nigerian defensive midfielder Papa Daniel from Nigeria Premier League club Niger Tornadoes on a three-year contract, set to run until June 30, 2028.

The 23-year-old, who honed his skills at Fackson Nextpro Football Academy, gained early recognition in Europe after winning a championship title at just 19. His move to Celje marks a major step in his career as he joins the club's long-term plans in midfield.
The cycle continues.

Mybettingtips:
It’s easier to sign Ekitike because of his small salary at Frankfurt. He’s earning 60k weekly at Frankfurt. They can easily sign him and offer him bigger wages at Liverpool

Wirtz was earning £76k weekly at Leverkusen but Liverpool poured €130m on him.

Same with Gyokeres, he’s earning 40k weekly at Sporting. Arsenal can sign him with big money and offer him bigger wage.

Osimhen’s case is different. Napoli want 75m and Osimhen wants 300-400k. How many clubs can match this easily when they can sign other players around 50-100k and offer them new wages of 150-250k?
So you must be a HATER making such common sense bssic truths. He is simply over priced.

Because Napoli are willing to pay you crazy money 🤑 that doesn't mean other clubs will too.

Very simple

Nurudeen Aweroro has been appointed as the new head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC). Aweroro guided Ikorodu City to a fourth-place finish in the NPFL last season and also led them to the semi-finals of the President Federation Cup.

I think the new GM bought complete coaching crew and board member of Ikorodu United.

3sc need to look at Remo city template if they want to succeed. The money governor is spending on the club is not reflecting enough.

You're saying the same thing.
Sign Isak for 120m
Increase his wage from 120k a week to 200k.
Give him 5 year contract.
Total expenditure 170m.

Pros: A 200k a week salary not too hard to sell.
More ceiling for wage increase.
League proven
No mid-season AFCON

Osimhen 65m (pounds)
Wages: 18m
Total expenditure over 5 years: 155m

Cons: Opposite of Isak's pros

This determines the interest.
streets are saying isak demanded a salary of 300k which newcastle are not willing to match. Lets see how this saga goes

ENYIMBA FC claps back at BROWN IDEYE.

The Release read..

Enyimba Football Club is both disappointed and dismayed by the recent public outburst made by former player, Brown Ideye, whose comments not only distort the truth but also seek to unjustly tarnish the image of Nigeria’s most successful football club and by extension, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

At a time when the NPFL is undergoing commendable transformation—gaining both regional and international respect—we find it deeply unfortunate that a former Nigerian international, who was welcomed back home with open arms, has chosen to malign the very system that embraced him.
Brown Ideye’s return to Nigerian football was heralded as a symbolic homecoming.

Despite the coach’s initial reservations, our management chose to extend an olive branch to a former Super Eagles striker, treating him with the dignity his pedigree deserved. During his stint, he was accorded VIP privileges, including:

A monthly salary of ₦1 million, making him one of the club’s highest earners,
Luxury hotel accommodation at ₦65,000 per night,
Air travel to away games—privileges not extended to many others,
Personal respect and access befitting his profile as a top-level ex-international.
These claims apart from being verifiable was awash in the media space and was widely analysed on “NAIJA-MADE” sports programme, SuperSports tv before and after his unveiling.

Unfortunately, rather than repay the club’s goodwill with leadership and professionalism, Ideye fell short—both on and off the pitch. Scoring only five goals across all competitions, his impact failed to match the expectations of his signing. Even more worrying was his divisive influence in the dressing room, which reportedly undermined team cohesion and progress.

Now, in a regrettable and self-serving attempt to rewrite the narrative, Mr. Ideye has leveled baseless allegations against the club and the league. His claims of poor player welfare are grossly misleading. Under the leadership of Chairman Kanu Nwankwo, Enyimba FC has instituted a transparent and consistent bonus structure, with players often receiving double bonuses for wins, as well as personal incentives from management—sometimes as much as ₦1 million.

It is simply unacceptable that a player who benefited immensely from the goodwill and structure of this great club would seek to tear it down in the public eye, especially when he never raised these issues while collecting VIP wages and privileges. His silence while enjoying these benefits speaks volumes about the motivation behind his sudden crusade.

This is a time when former Nigerian players returning home should be encouraging others to contribute meaningfully, not discrediting the platform that gave them a second chance. Brown Ideye’s conduct is not only unbecoming of a professional but a betrayal to the principles of integrity and gratitude.

To our fans, stakeholders, and the NPFL family: we assure you that Enyimba FC remains committed to professionalism, reform, and the growth of Nigerian football. This incident, while regrettable, serves as a lesson. We will not be deterred by noise or revisionist agendas. The People’s Elephant will continue to march forward with dignity and pride.

Signed,
Club Media Department
Enyimba FC of Aba

I still think Ghana remains our number one rival. So much history there. I know for sure this final would have been more highly anticipated if Ghana had scaled through.

South Africa has possibly surpassed Cameroon in my eyes sha. At least within the last couple of years.

But then again, you could argue it's still a one-sided rivalry because we almost always end up winning somehow. It's just like our beef with Argentina. Our games with them are mostly tight but they end up squeezing a victory over us somehow.

I feel like Nigeria is to South Africa now what Argentina has been to us.
What it means is that they might throw off the yoke of our dominance soon just as we did Cameroun who were a thorn in our flesh in the 80's and 90's.

If Super Falcons had met Ghana, they'd beat them squarely. We beat them enroute WAFCON by 3-1.
