I notice everyone here only does money market. Are there other people investing in other funds. I have been investing in the equity and balances funds with stanbic for 5 years now and the return exceeds mmf. Average of 40-60 % pa. Are there other people investing on other funds? |

jejet1:How does this work? Can you please enlighten us? |
| Re: Mutual Funds by jejet1: 10:34pm On Jul 24, 2025 |
Just same way you invest in mmf. There are other funds in the portfolio. oluseg2: |

Like I said earlier; stanbic ibtc nigeria equity fund and stanbic ibtc balanced fund. You can check their factsheet on their site to see the performances. I just checked FBN smart beta equity from first bank now, they also report similar performance. 2011HajjWeber: |

jejet1:Don't forget to also mention that equity and balanced funds are of a higher risk level than mmf. MMF is low risk and principle is guaranteed that's why it's spoken loudly about. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by jejet1: 8:04am On Jul 25, 2025 |
That's correct. Everyone should evaluate their risk tolerance Rhyah: |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 8:16am On Jul 25, 2025 |
jejet1:Everybody seems to be in MMF because that is what they understand and their risk tolerance can accommodate. Check my earlier post on what determines where investors put their money. By the way many are also into other funds type and even more into stocks. Everything depends largely on investors risk tolerance not only on rate |

[/quote]Good morning. I just downloaded the stanbic/blunest app and completed my registration. I've also funded my account. What next step do I need to take so as to start investing? I'm new to all this so I need some guidance. Pardon my ignorance Thanks. Modified. I've found my way around it. Thanks |

Hatrick123:You can’t subscribe directly from your wallet using old app but i have never used that feature either. For all my funds, i subscribe using bank transfer to the collection account. Redemption on old app is straight forward and if i redeem before 8am most times i get my money before 1pm unlike bluenest till now I don’t receive online redemption receipt via email, that is why i reverted back to the old app. |

The CardinalStone Equity Fund, like other equity-focused investments, demonstrates significant volatility. In 2024, my N500,000 capital at some point drop to N410,000. However, with the current equity market upturn, it's also experiencing exponential growth to 815k. This means high potential for both substantial gains and losses, marking it as an aggressive investment. Tomorrow the 815k can drop to 600k, depending on equity market performance. In contrast, Money Market Funds (MMFs) offer stability. They prioritize capital preservation, making it highly unlikely to lose your initial investment. For maximizing returns and managing the risk of an equity fund, the strategy involves a long-term investment combined with Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) – consistently investing more capital, especially during market dips. This approach helps average out your purchase price and capitalizes on future market recoveries. Thank you.

Do you read my previous posts. I have been investing in the 2 funds since 2021. And as Addendum, I am not promoting any product or company. I am not a sales agent. I am proving alternative views to anyone who is interested. No one should put me on the spot. I am here to to make money in the capital market, share my experience and learn from what others are doing. Thank you Harddiskng: |

Harddiskng:Thanks for your reply. How long does it take for funds to reflect when you subscribe via bank transfer. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Polchiz(m): 10:20am On Jul 26, 2025 |
Hatrick123:If you subscribe via bank transfer before 12:00 noon, it will reflect that same day, sometimes late in the night. However, any subscription after 12:00 noon, will take 24hrs to reflect. Do not forget to state your E-account number in the Narration. |

Greetings to all investors here...its always a time to learn, unlearn and restrategise whenever i visit this page. My curiosity drove me into investing in a so called "local business"....Amazingly i realised this local business offers between 3.5%-10% per capital per month. The big question then was.....why do investors fails to support this business or entrepreneurs in this line but wouldn't mind investing in MMF and their likes inspite of their low interest and risk factors... ??I look forward to our constructive and educative commments as i intend to share my believe on every submission.... Thanks great investors |

jejet1:Thanks for sharing. A friend in the fund said the same. I haven’t invested there tho, but it seems worth a small slice of one’s portfolio. However I think the edge MMFs have is that it lets you plan long term cos of their less erratic rates. The key is ensuring the amount invested in each portfolio reflects its inherent risk. |

Hatrick123:see eh, I personally have never used the wallet system. To me, it doesn't make much sense to go through the extra step when I could just directly invest the money. Mind you, the money earns you nothing while it sits in that wallet. Any transfer I make to my account should reflect before 5PM same day if it's Business day and if it's holiday / weekend, it should reflect on next Business day. mind you, I have learnt to only invest on Business days (Monday to Friday; excluding holidays) and before 12PM. That way, I never have to wait much |

Neurotika:issue with some of this big grammars is that some people don't really get it. PLUS, a lot of people have this getRichQuick mindSet hence considers interest rates 1st, 2nd, 3rd before anything else. And a lot of people just mention the PROs without the CONs hence reason I responded to @jejet1 comment the way I did. Personally, have never lost money BUT I'm not the sort that reasons like most people. I haven't even for once, thought of porting to another provider despite all the huge interest rates being mentioned; I still remained with the one paying 20%. A lot of people na simple SHEEP. Unlike a lot of people, I only found this thread long after being an MMF investor BUT I did my research enough to already know what I wanted before I even was ready. I only wished I had [much] started earlier. AnyOne is free to put their money where they like BUT they at least should understand what they doing and if you wanna lecture people, at least be kind enough to not just speak on the PROs but also the CONs. na same thing dey make me tackle those in the Solar thread. |

Fish4wealth:First of all, try commenting using a different userName so your tactics isn't so glaring. Secondly, one of the benefits of using providers such as Stanbic IBTC, etc is they already got a structure that takes care of both the learned and the newbies hence whether you're an expert, or a novice, chances of making a silly mistake is greatly reduced. It's easy to want to support a local business BUT not everyOne got the right capital requirements, or the legal rights, among other things to be able to even spot such opportunities, let alone meet up with necessary requirements. I presume you know already it's not just about giving someOne 500,000 naira or 100,000 naira to add to their business and then give you so so so interest at end of X Days. Mind you, a client contacted me that He's got someone who wants to invest 25,000 dollars but it's got to be finTech. I made a couple of calls and was shocked the minimum a lot of them needed was way above the $25,000 the client mentioned. Money wey I think say plenty already. Even one of the contacts listed out a couple of things and even me sef follow gree say true true the money small. What I'm trying to say is that established providers such as Stanbic IBTC, and the likes have the necessary resources to make things work enough a lot of us trust working with them. Make person no go invest 5-million for some kind local business, only to hear say the person or one of the main people JAPA, or say e die or one funny story or the other. And also, I guess you aware the underlying instruments our funds are invested in MMF have very little chances of not returning profits. |

But just to correct the first impression....i have two accounts on N/L to.....this and youngzoologist...so depending on the phone i'm using at a point in time....Thanks for the observation. Now...i picked two things... 1. Fund security 2. Structured business.. I look forward to further discuss on this once i create my own thread....thanks for being the first to comment constructively |

Hello. I recently registered on bluenest. I got a call from one of stanbic ibtc customer care telling me to provide my wallet account number(the one that starts with C) for them to complete my registration. I am wondering what it is needed for, or is it their standard protocol? Pls someone that has an idea can respond. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 5:05pm On Jul 26, 2025*. Modified: 7:44pm On Jul 26, 2025 |
Elui2:Sincerely, I still prefer the traditional way of account opening with Stanbic Asset Management using the link. Once you register through the link, your kyc is captured instantly, and your account is opened within 24 hours. Your e-account number ie, the account they are asking from you now, is issued. With that, if you do a transfer into their UBA collection account using the e-account number as narration, you get credited without any issues. Most times, using the Blunet just gives you instant account creation and help you login but you will still have to do all the formalities before you have your account running properly. By the way, your e-account number is not your wallet account number. Your wallet is a specialized Stanbic bank account number through which you could also fund your MMF if you don't want to go through the collection account method. Going forward, you can give them a call to let them know how you opened your account and that you will need your e-account number to be sent to you. Mind you, they will first need you to submit your kyc documents. |

emmasoft:Thank you very much for the response. I have my e-account number now. It's the e-account that they told my yo send to them, I was wondering why the person told me to call out my E account number to her |
| Re: Mutual Funds by jejet1: 10:01pm On Jul 26, 2025 |
The introduction of a virtual account in Blunest is by stanbic is useless if the mutual fund top up cannot be credited to the fund in real time. You still have to wait 24-48 hours for the top up to reflect. It negates whatever purpose it's suppose to server, except it's still a work-in-progress. Elui2: |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 10:15pm On Jul 26, 2025 |
Elui2:You welcome. Most times, it's the e-account, phone number, or your email (unique features) that they normally use for queries to trace investors' details on their system. |
