it will soon be okada. shameless people that always celebrate mediocrity. a state making trillions in revenue
Show us the projects that you state governor has been able to achieve.
Not your local government.
Tell us what state you are from.
Because I am pretty sure this is the first local government in Nigeria to have its own fire station.. Please tell us your state and let's see what your governor has done.
Not Federal Fire Station in your state ohh

Those keke fire fighter vehicles are amart because many times trucks don't arrive on time because of traffic and crowds..

Exousiang01:
Maybe you should also throw away the fire extinguisher in your car since I am sure it is way smaller than what the tricycle can carry.
But of fire starts in Bariga I am sure that fire starts in Bariga that fire station with those tricycles would be able to get there faster than the big fire trucks from the state fire service to prevent the fire from escalating.
Have you not heard of fire trucks getting stuck in traffic.
This is the Local governments effort to many accidents, they understand their area better than you do.
Comparing a car fire extinguisher to a tricycle fire unit? Brilliant logic. You're being overly emotional and still haven’t clearly explained how exactly a tricycle functions in a fire station. Speed in traffic is one thing, but effectiveness in actual firefighting is another

But project or no project it does not eradicate the fact that lagos smells, dirty stored water from all its gutters, vomotting offensive smell here and there, and you dare not open your window at night cos you can't breathe, e dey chock undecided
Your people made Lagos smell, you overpopulated Lagos, stressed the infrastructures in Lagos and turned around to complain Lagos smell. You are not worthy to utter this from your mouth if you cannot stop the mass migration of your people to Lagos and other southwest states.

I never wanted to to reply your mention maybe probably I am not the type who pays attention to such demeaning public outburst, but let me remind you, I love lagos, its a place where I was born, my birth place, it too heart quaking for me to see how it smell, but I am never a bigot... If you don't want people to share with you then go on your own and let others stay on their own, its live and let live.

These LCDA chairmen are doing what some Governors cannot do.
This is a beautiful innovation. Looking at traffic jam and all, machines like this can get to site before the bigger trucks arrive.

The brown roof republic is prospering compared to your region. We've your people living in large numbers in almost every part of Yoruba land because Yoruba land is prospering.

Calling the deployment of keke (tricycles) for fire-fighting a sign of development is deeply misleading and reflects how low the bar has been set for public service delivery in Nigeria.

Let’s be factual:

1. Fire Response Needs Heavy Equipment: Fire outbreaks, especially in urban areas, require:
High-capacity water tanks (minimum of 1,000–5,000 liters),

- High-pressure pumps,
- Hydraulic ladders for high buildings,
- Oxygen tanks and protective suits.

A keke can barely carry 200 liters of water. That’s not enough to douse a burning room, let alone a house or market.

2. The National Fire Statistics Show Scale of the Problem:
Between 2016 and 2022, Nigeria recorded over 9,000 fire outbreaks across markets, homes, and government buildings (Federal Fire Service). Lagos alone reported 1,070 fire incidents in 2021, resulting in damages worth billions of naira. A major fire, like the Balogun Market fire, takes multiple fire trucks and hours to control—not tricycles.

3. Global Fire Standards: No developed country deploys keke for fire-fighting. Instead:
The U.S., UK, South Africa, and Kenya all prioritize well-equipped fire stations, hydrant systems, and fire engines with proper capacity. In Ghana, the government recently spent over $49 million to procure fire tenders and rescue equipment—not tricycles.

4. What This Really Shows:
Deploying keke is a symptom of state failure, not innovation. It means the state has failed to invest in proper emergency infrastructure and is managing decay instead of solving root problems. It’s like using a bucket to fight an inferno and calling it "innovation."

5. There Are Better Alternatives:
Instead of keke, deploy mini fire engines like in Japan or Singapore, which can still carry water, foam, and pumps in narrow streets.

Install neighborhood fire hydrants and train locals in early response techniques.

Invest in community fire stations and regular fire drills.

Fire-fighting keke are not a solution, they’re a desperate improvisation caused by failure to plan and invest properly. If your house is on fire, you deserve real help—not token PR stunts dressed up as “innovation.”
Exousiang01:
Are the keke for public transportation.
You are just one of the many enemies of good development in this country.

If fire starts in your house and the fire men arrive with the keke, tell them not to put out the fire, tell them you are waiting for the state fire service with their big trucks...

The keke is to manage fire incidents before the state fire service truck arrive.

Commendable!

Governor Babajide SO should start some massive project(s) that will be ascribed to him/his administration, even though if his successor eventually completes it, he will still be given the credits! LAGOS IS RICH, BUILD INFRASTRUCTURE.

I know a narrative is being driven by this commissioning of projects by outgoing LCDA chairmen, may I ask where are the projects by the constitutionally recognized LGAs that were before the LCDAs undecided undecided undecided undecided

grin Abeg how much water dey inside the tricycle .. Biko you can invest in water hydrant and drone fire systems, because Lagos would be a vertical city in the next 30 years. Except you want to continue distorting marine life, sending sharks, whales and dolphins deep into the sea.

So you are telling me that small fire extinguisher in your car will be more effective than a big cylinder load of it in a keke?

I thought you will ask him where he is living in Lagos. What do you expect when most of them lives in a congested store at Ladipo, Mushin or Alaba, or in a congested room in festac or Ojo Ajagbandi etc....a small room will be filled with 35 people and more, sleeping on top of each other waiting for morning to come and go open shop without even taking their bath. Smell definitely will be his companion....

Of course, a keke with a big cylinder solves everything. Who needs training, equipment, or strategy when we have genius solutions like yours? No wonder you're stuck in reverse with such brain.
