Please I still have problem with hotel, like how many euro is good for 7days hotel booking or let me say how many euro was the hotel you use for your own ?
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by sirrotex: 11:35am On Jul 26, 2025
Your question cannot be answered in isolation of how much is available for your stay. You can't for example book a 5 star hotel which costs about 1500 euro per night when you have 5m as your account balance. In summary cut your cloth according to your cloth.

Hello everybody in the house

Please I have a question to ask

if I booked hotel reservation of 195euro for 7days in Paris for my visa application in other to curt my clothes according to my size I hope it will not cause visa denied? Simply because the accommodate fees is too small, as anybody booked this type of cheap hotel before and was granted visa

Hi,

I made a payment on Thursday by card.

What's the issue you are facing? Are you able to access the payment page? or when you click on bank transfer, it doesn't work? A bit more context will help.

trying to understand the reason behind your action.doesnt make much sense from my POV.
these hotel bookings are cancellable, and people go on to make other accomodation arrangments, when they arrive. countries want tourists who hv money to spend...not those who may become a threat or burden. paris is an expensive place, 20 euro hotel would likely be a hostel ...., wch an average VO wudnt be too happy with. a 50 to 100 euro hotel booking sounds more reasonable......

Not using a schengen visa, is it a big issue against renewals?.
Am torn between missing my tls appointment and submitting, but likely not travelling as other stiff came up and i likely wudnt be able to use the visa, if issued..especially if its the usual 30 days given to first timers.
Hence my question. Pls chook mouth if you have experience

You don't need a transit visa. KLM, Air France and Lufthansa are great options.

Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by VisaZest: 12:00pm On Jul 29, 2025
Hi,

The way I see it- if you miss your appointment, you lose only the appointment fee. Whereas if you go through the entire process and don't use the visa, you lose the TLS fee, visa fees, insurance etc. By your next application, you also have to give a credible reason why you did not use the visa.

Solution
Can you move your trip to sometime in 6 months time? You are allowed to apply 6 months ahead of your trip and I have successfully applied for a September trip in April. Visa was issued April but start date was in September.

All the best!

I just kept getting different answers from Google. I don't want to hear you cannot fly when I reach airport. Will just go with Lufthansa. Thanks so much
I equally just called their customer care line and was told if it's only one transit in Frankfurt no visa is required.

i also would appreciate seeing a copy of a successful cover letter...
back in the days, my UK itinerary...was just an itemized list of my plans/activities while in the UK....this schengen one seems to be different....and the search option on nairaland is suboptimal...as I have tried searching for a copy of the cover letter....and no luck

Thank you.

I've worked on the cover letter to reduce the amount of irrelevant information using your sample as a guide. I'll attach two screenshots. The version 1 is the previous version and the version 2 is the latest one.

I really want to highlight the strong ties to home country (the text after my list of attached documents) because I'm a young single male traveller. The reason for this is based on what I've read online, visa issuing officers are always looking for the slightest chance to deny the application of applicants with my profile (young, single, male) so one has to provide enough proof that yes, I'll return home after my trip in order to further convince them.

But, I'm still looking forward to your opinion on that as well.

Thanks once again!
finally seen.. chk this post for cover letter sample

Hello everyone,

Please I'm looking for who will be travelling to Paris in August. I may be travelling alone, so I need company if any. I'm just going for a vacation. I'll do France and another 1 or two countries.
This is not a good place to be scouting for groupie for a trip.

Be safe , my candid advise.

You can book for KLM or Air France. No transit visa required with US or Canadian visa.

I don't know much about Lufthansa to Canada. However, I would not recommend based on my experience during my last trip with them to Germany.

So, i have filled the form and ready for biometrics at tls..however am not seeing a submit tab or do not remember doing that.
My question is how do i submit the form online.?

I know i need to go with a print out of the completed form to TLS office.

Edit: decided not to delete for anyone who may run into this issue.
I deleted the other unfinished application, before it brought out the submit icon and allowed me print the submitted application

I estimate 4.15 millions naira for flight, hotel, feeding, transport and tour for 7days tourist in France, while my salary account closing balance will be 5m and business account will be 6m

Dont know about Schengen..but UK focuses more on income and. Cashflow that bulk money in account.
Like you earn 200k monthly...and have 15m in your account, and intend to spend 4m on a 7 days vacation trip.
The uk people wud look at it that you want to spend almost 1yrs wages on a 7 days trip....the 15m you have in your acct is largely irrelevant to them....and chances of denial is very high

Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by BruceXavier: 5:04pm On Aug 02, 2025
You have to cancel that application and make another one, which means you might have to forfeit the appointment that you have already made. Omitting your middlename is enough reason to have your application refused. Your name on the bio data page should match the information on your application form and match your visa(should it be approved). Unintentional mistakes like this can get a visa application denied, which is why people are advised to review their forms thoroughly before submitting.

spriteB:
Hello everyone,

I just realized I didn't add my middle name on my Visa application form, only my first and last name; it was only included on my TLS appointment form. Is there any negative implication to this? I understand I might lose the application fee and may not get the initial appointment date anymore, if cancel the application. What do I do?

Please, anyone who has an idea, kindly respond to this question.
