Do the math — that’s over $35,000 per player from FIFA already, and now $2.3 million more in taxpayer funds is being burnt for PR.

This is not reward — it’s reckless spending, a slap in the face of every suffering Nigerian. That money could have set up hundreds of small businesses, empowered real entrepreneurs, or funded job creation programs. Instead, it went to make a political statement wrapped in mediocrity.

This is crazy, it will take a senior government official, doctors or senior lecturer on 500k salary more than 304 years to earn that kind of money. Even top directors in the ministries, consultant medical personnel's on 2 millions naira salary will have to work for 75 years before they earn that kind of money. The 3 bedroom they gave them will not less than 50m naira as well.

50m each and a house would have been more reasonable. Tinubu government is the mother of wastefuness.
