Every life matter but at this point it's correct to save the woman first you can't sacrifice known for the unknown. If the woman is alive she can still give birth to another child. |

It is a common saying in my tribe. The loss of a wife is what leads to the devastation of the household not that of child or a stillbirth. |

Once when i was hospitalized in the hospital my mum came to visit me. When she saw me she prayed, and said instead of this illness to kill my son let it kill me instead. Thank God I made it. I didnt have kids then, but now as a father, i can easily give up my life for my kids. However this post is about an unborn child. |

Karleb:I have never seen or heard of a doctor asking the husband who to save. Where do they even find time for such conversation? |

In this life, lessons would be learned. This why why people say life is school. I personally know a baby that the mother (a petty trader) died during birth in 1991. Today, that young man is a medical doctor ( orthopedic surgeon) in the US earning more than #500M a year. Guess what? The father is still alive and healthy. What do you think his answer to this question would be today? |

Actual Mothers faced with this choice may decide otherwise. However, Saving the mother is the right thing.[quote author=obembet post=136262342]I believe t is very natural for a woman to love her own child. It comes easily and naturally. But with what I just saw on X today, it shows that's not every woman love or care about children.. expecially this ladies of nowadays. Of course I believe every life matters but this message this lady take it so different. Is This Statement Normal As From Responsible Woman? She already knows how things go. No doctor worth his/her salt will save a mother over the child. It’s their training. |

I will ask the doctor to do their best to save both my wife and baby because their lives are important to me. My wife is my main priority since I chose to spend my life with her. The baby will grow up and find their own partner later. The baby also needs a mother to care for them through infancy and childhood. I love my wife and baby deeply. I hope both survive, but if I lose my wife, I will be heartbroken forever. If I lose the baby, I will be sad but recover after a few months. |

This is a no brainer and obviously common sense, the child hasn't lived a day, unknown and won't be missed much. The wife should be saved, the tasks of taking care of a baby by the father can not even be explained. So if there's ever a situation of saving one person, save the mother/wife. She can always give birth to another but the chaos and troubles that follows if only the baby is saved is gigantic. |
| Re: If anything goes wrong during labor, save me not the baby by TruthDefender(m): 9:46am On Jul 29, 2025 |
Yes the right thing would be to save the woman. She can always give birth again to another baby. But there's a shocker.... If the scenario were reversed majority of women would save their babies over their husbands. Women are in business, Men are in love |

This is only plausible when she never really wanted the baby and the husband knows that the child is not his. |

Why will I save baby I don't know for a wife I know. It's not too late for the baby to start over. The woman is already in the game. She should complete her life meaningfully. |

I agree with her as a husband. ...but if the child is in her teenage years, the response may certainly not be the same. If you know, you know! |

This should be a standard medical practice. one year down the line, the mother can have another child. However, it will take the child at least next 20years to have one, that is if the child survive which is like <=40% chance without the mother. This decision is also wise for our continues existence has human. Mother life should come first, does not make the child life less priority. May we never get to this point in Life where we have to choose. [quote author=obembet post=136262342]I believe t is very natural for a woman to love her own child. It comes easily and naturally.
