DeepSight:Critical thinking is one of the biggest downfalls of African people; we never solve problems until it's too late. We will continue with the uncontrolled internal migration until it's too late, and then resort to ethnic violence because we refuse to implement policies that will control internal migration. The Chinese use the Hokou system to manage internal migration; you can't just travel to a state or city and arrange your accommodation, or state your purpose of travel. This is the reason why China, with 1.5 billion, don't have ghetto or illegal settlements and all the insecurity and upheaval that come with uncontrolled internal migration. The Chinese internal migration system, primarily known as the hukou system, regulates and controls the movement of people within China. Established in 1958, it links citizens' rights and access to social services to their registered place of birth, making it difficult for migrants to obtain local hukou in new locations. This system has significantly impacted the lives of millions of internal migrants, particularly those moving from rural to urban areas, by limiting their access to education, healthcare, and other essential services. |

Kudos to North Korea, first they built a world class hospital and now this. The roads look great, the cities are properly lit. Two things one failed country I know of cannot boast of |

It would have been more better than Nigeria if there is no restriction in some areas. If you look @ those pictures very well, cars are not many on their roads, the beach is not populated by the citizens and foreigners may become spies within short period. adamkkk: |

sulaak:How would this system work in a Nigeria without social services and where most people do everything for themselves? Do you think migrants to Lagos are coming to collect any social services here? I dont think so. |

lexy2014:North Korea has been under extreme sanction for the best part of 70 years , yet the country has a 100 literacy , can build its own satalite and delivery system and build work class tourist resort. Nigeria has the 11th largest oil reserve in the world and the 7th largest gas reserve in the world, yet the country is now the 20th poorest country in the world Revealed: The World’s Top 20 Poorest Countries in 2025 https://ceoworld.biz/2024/11/24/revealed-the-worlds-top-20-poorest-countries-in-2025/ Sudan GDP per capita 2025: USD 1009 Guinea-Bissau GDP per capita 2025: USD 1057 Rwanda GDP per capita 2025: USD 1061 Nigeria GDP per capita 2025: USD 1063 |

sulaak:that is not what I asked you. 1. since the you say north koreans are not breeding like rabbits, how come 60% of them are living in poverty? 2. how many north koreans can afford to go to this resort? 3. how is "The excuse that Lagos was the former capital 35 years ago, hence it must welcome the entire country and the country's problems, one of the reasons Nigeria has failed as a country"? |
| Re: Inside North Korea's Multi billion Dollar Resort Cluster by DeepSight(m): 11:45am On Jul 29, 2025 |
sulaak:Its obvious. Commercial opportunities. That's the same in many countries - people tend to flock to the commercial nerve centre which Lagos is. The real way to stem the tide is to ramp up commerce and industry across the country. Are there any social services in any part of Nigeria? I am not aware. Here in Lagos its pretty much each man / estate for himself / itself. |
| Re: Inside North Korea's Multi billion Dollar Resort Cluster by flexyrule(m): 11:45am On Jul 29, 2025 |
sulaak:Uncontrolled Internal immigration to Lagos is a result of the localisation of almost all the country's commercial infrastructure there. Don't forget, a bulk of this infrastructure was developed using the country's commonwealth. Same way you can't stop everybody from moving to Abuja. |
