Although it is a war film and literally you'll see it as a tragedy but in the whole sense of it the death of Mel Gibson the colonel who was tasked to save private Ryan and who is also lead actor died at the end of the film....so the death of the Mel Gibson makes it a tragicomedy

It's a full time tragedy, ND no comedy in it... From start to finish is intense of fright and intrigue....
