Suicide is never an option!

There are a lot of addiction centers that can help one recover and be fully integrated into society and function normal again!

Still put the Bishop in trouble.. when he gets to heaven now he will realize people owing -1billion Naira are still living peacefully not troubling their mind. Addiction or not you can always find a way to extend your debt and pay small small, but I know he's just tired of life, and needed an excuse to go away .

I lost 250k to Spotify from October to February. I quite completely, deleted the app from my phone. Now, I have peace. Betting is dangerous, although there are people who have more wins than losses. But if you notice that it doesn't favour you, just quit.

AngelSlay:
While it's true that economic hardship can drive people toward gambling, blaming gambling solely on the economy overlooks several key facts:

1. Gambling addiction exists even in wealthy countries.
Countries like the UK, Australia, and the U.S. — with far stronger economies than Nigeria — still battle serious gambling problems.

In Australia, for example, the average adult loses over AUD 1,200 per year to gambling, despite high living standards.
→ Conclusion: Economic hardship is not the only driver; access, marketing, and addiction psychology also play major roles.

2. Not everyone turns to gambling despite harsh conditions.
Millions of Nigerians face poverty but choose productive coping methods like entrepreneurship, farming, or skill-building instead of gambling.

This shows that gambling is a choice influenced by mindset, peer influence, and exposure — not an inevitable response to poverty.

3. Gambling thrives on illusion of quick success, not just economic pressure.
The idea of getting rich quickly appeals to both poor and rich. Many middle-class and even wealthy individuals gamble not out of need, but due to greed, boredom, or thrill-seeking.
→ It’s not just survival — it’s psychology.

Gambling is a serious issue, but calling it a universal epidemic caused only by the economy is misleading. Addiction is complex, involving behavioral psychology, poor regulation, and social influence, not just financial hardship. Tackling the problem requires a holistic approach — including education, awareness, and support — not just economic reform.
Apt submission!!!

Omihanifa:
Most unemployed youths in nigeria living in the rural area or lower income areas of cities in nigeria sees betting as a source of income
This is a fact. Either they bet or do yahoo. Nothing out there for most youths. BUT! If one has access to a decent phone or laptop, there’s always a hustle to do online. The importance of having friends or associates who are forward-thinking cannot be underestimated.

It’s crazy how common this is but no one really talks about it deeply. I used to think I’d never stop. It drained my energy and peace of mind. I eventually found a simple guide that opened my eyes and helped me beat it.
