kushy:Tbills is always better than fixed deposit in the bank. A better rate most times and upfront payment is associated with Tbills |

Jane111:The word best is relative. Most people choose fund managers base on some criteria apart from rate. So it depends on what is your priority. Many investors consider: Customer care service Easy of navigating their app or portal and user friendliness Prompt redemption and ease of deposit. Some consider bank affiliation etc. From experience it will be difficult to have a manager that will be perfect, so Most times I advise that once you have a good rate at least within the industrial range, all the parties to the fund is confirmed and you are able to deposit/redeem with minimal or no hiccups, you are good to go. Check the links on my signature to go with stanbic or First Ally you will be fine. You can as well get in touch. |

Meanwhile, as rates have been coming down, FGN bond prices have been rising (not unexpected). Most prices are up c9% since February this year ![]() |

skydiver01:Hello everyone Boss, can you assist and analyse this bond....Wish to know the coupon to get every 6 months Nominal amount allocated(Maturity value) ....2Million 20k naira I will be greatful If someone can assist to give me an idea about the coupon. My confusion is based on the two different rates quoted....it is for 2029 BOND subscription. |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 12:40pm On Aug 13, 2025*. Modified: 11:30am On Aug 18, 2025 |
What you would get every six month is 19.3% bond coupon annual rate divided by two multiplied by the face (nominal) value (N2,020,000) being N194,930 bi-annually. The lower yield to maturity rate of 16.5% is a reflection of the current bond purchase price which I suspect is cN115. The consideration is also higher than the nominal because there would be approximately four month interest on the bond to pay now which you get back at the next coupon date being 17 November 2025. The bond matures on 17 April 2029. Hope the above helps ![]() |

skydiver01:Yeah. The original coupon interest is used then which is the clarification I seek. I am greatful for the clarification |

I greet you all.. It is no longer news that Tinubu's govt is working hard to broaden our tax network as from January 1st 2026 to all Nigerians, and ensure every Nigerian earning above 800k yearly pays personal income tax (PIT) Are they also going to tax interest earned from treasury bills investments or dividends from bonds? Someone with deep knowledge should please enlighten us all. |
