Arrogant view as usual, if an English player gets the kind of coverage or attention in Turkey VO is getting or anywhere else it will be huge news, ok? VO going to Turkey was never a function of quality in the first place.
No quality top level English player in his prime will go to Turkish retirement league.

This is truth and fact you call it arrogance.

Your argument is now premised on the initial point I made which makes the entire back and forth unnecessary. I said "Discrimination is a difficult concept to explain to Nigerians because our nation by design encourages discrimination"

I already conceded that we by design encourage discrimination and so may find it difficult a concept to appreciate which is exactly what's happening here. It's why the president can lopsided political appointments that favours his ethnic leaning and the next person is just waiting for an opportunity to get into power to do his own. So I don't disagree when you say "such a case cannot fly in court here" cause of course it won't but not for lack of merit.

Let me just say this conclusively, Presidents aren't kings who can do as they like. The authority of their office is back by a document called the constitution which sets the guardrails for the extent of their authority. So comparing presidential pardons which has constitutional backing to rewards that do not is faulty thinking in my opinion. If the President by his prerogative pardons someone, he's doing so because by the constitution he is allowed that latitude. So he isn't acting outside of ambit if his authority. So a President can for instance grant presidential pardon to only those of his ethnic background and he is protected by law to do so. It is why every president by law also selects a minister from every state because the constitution mandates it. So a president can detest a region of the country but must by law select ministers from said region. The framers intended for this provision to give some semblance of equality and protect against discrimination.

Giving financial rewards to athletes however isn't. There's no provision for subjective spending by the executive in our laws, It's why we have a budget. You also have to research when gifting athletes money started. It was during the military era when the head of state was a law to himself. So this culture was borrowed from a system of government that allowed for that latitude. Right now, doing so without guardrails is discriminatory. The fact that one may be able to get judgment on this in a Nigerian courts doesn't make it any less discriminatory.
Permit me to deviate momentarily.

You are either dreaming and need to WAKE UP.

There is no "Rule of Law" there is now convergence of powers as opposed to " Seperation of Powers" We don't have a President we have an Emperor , who is the law, creates it and is above it.

This is the reality.

Because as English players they will be over priced by English cubs, unfortunately VO is not an English player! So I agree

So Rio Ngumoha is of Nigerian descent...
Quality baller.....
Could be a revelation this season if given enough minutes with Liverpool first team
From what I know from his Father and brother, we are not friends. They are from Congo

Funnily I didn't rate Ngouhma that much he has been given undue opportunity not by merit

Ovie Ejaria Seizes Fresh Start at Real Oviedo
05.08.2025 03:00

In a pulsating friendly clash against Cultural, Ovie Ejaria reminded everyone why he was once tipped as the next big thing. The British midfielder, who has endured a heart-wrenching two-year hiatus plagued by injuries and personal hurdles, lit up the pitch with a performance that had fans daring to dream again. Under the watchful eye of coach Paunovic, Ejaria is clawing his way back to relevance, and a spot in the squad could be just around the corner.

Paunovic, who previously guided Ejaria during their time at Reading in England’s second tier, couldn’t hide his excitement. He raved about the midfielder’s flair in attacking zones and his velvet touch on the ball. ‘Ovie needs to be careful, but he did very well. I have no doubts about him,’ the coach declared, his words carrying the weight of belief and hope for a stunning comeback.

Ejaria's Road Back and Club's Plans
Real Oviedo is putting Ejaria through his paces at their training ground, scrutinizing every move as they weigh up whether he’s ready to reignite his career. If he keeps weaving his magic, he could become the seventh summer signing for the club. It’s a cautious dance, given his long absence from the game, but the early sparks of brilliance are impossible to ignore.

Meanwhile, Real Oviedo isn’t putting all their eggs in one basket. The club is on the hunt for fresh blood to bolster key areas of the squad, eyeing a central defender, left-back, central midfielder, right winger, and forward. Whispers from sources close to the club suggest active talks for a midfielder from Panathinaikos and a left-back from porto, as Oviedo gears up to build a fortress for the season ahead.

Sports rewards don gulp almost $5m so far. Chan and Super Eagles up next.

If this Chan eagles hit jackpot, i see Chelle taking at least 2 to AFCON.

Overall fear: sports abandonment resumes after all this rewards fervor settles.

🦅 The agreement between Wilfred Ndidi and Besiktas on personal terms is almost done.

Besiktas are waiting for Ndidi to clarify exit details with Leicester City in order to get the deal done.
