Nigeria could hv been there but monopoly no gree
You guys only know how to tell lies and be silly at the same time. Did you or any of your kinsmen apply for a licence and were denied? For your info, we have Lafarge and BUA competing with Dangote in cement production, so where is the monopoly here?

Dogalmighty17:
Can someone do a cost comparison of cement bags in each country?
Price is most likely higher in those country than Nigeria.

Anybody is free to get the licence to set up a cement factory.

That your b-lodas you are fighting for were only interested in importation of cement from China.
. That's why they failed.

They don't have what it takes to run a cement factory.
If they have the brain, let them apply for licence.
Ibeto said I should greet you good morning. Why has no Yoruba man ventured into cement production. If not that BUA is a fellow northeener you think he will still be in business.

Nigeria suppose dey that list but the cement mafias don hijack mining licence
The poor state of the Nigerian economy will naturally exempt us from that list and any that ranks the consumption of key commodities like fuels and metals.

The mere fact that we still export crude oil shows how lean we are industrially.

Yet none of the top manufacturers are in the richest category in their continents compared to dangote of Africa?

China is everything best in this world. They don't use phone or ATM for transfer. Just put your finger you'll receive debit. No chips just your fingers.
Them and India over population is also helping them.
For example the most spoken language in the world is Mandarin/Chinese. It's so bcus they're the most populated country even though I doubt more than 10 countries speaks their language.

How many does Nigeria produce? Is it’s any where close?
African countries are only into primary production, Nigeria inclusive, despite the abundance of limestone in Nigeria.

Don't expect to see any African countries there

Baba no igbo man has ever tried to venture into it, stop capping what is a lie. You all want the government to continue to allow Ibeto to keep importing cement into Nigeria when we have an abundance of limestone here. You people are enemies of Nigeria. No country grows with excessive importation. If any of your brothers decides to go into cement production government will allow them.

Cement prices vary significantly across countries. Here's a comparison of cement prices in Nigeria and other countries:

- *Nigeria:*
- Average price per 50kg bag: ₦6,500 to ₦8,250 (approximately $14 to $18 USD)
- Wholesale price per 50kg bag: ₦7,500 to ₦9,500 (approximately $16 to $21 USD)
- Popular brands and their prices:
- Dangote Cement: ₦9,000 to ₦10,000 per 50kg bag
- BUA Cement: ₦6,500 to ₦7,000 per 50kg bag, with current prices around ₦9,000
- Lafarge Cement: ₦7,400 to ₦8,200 per 50kg bag, with current prices between ₦10,000 and ₦11,500
- Ibeto Cement: ₦8,000 to ₦9,500 per 50kg bag
- *China:*
- Price per metric ton: $47 to $54 USD (approximately ₦20,000 to ₦23,000 per metric ton or ₦400 to ₦460 per 50kg bag)
- *India:*
- Price per kilogram: 395 to 450 INR (approximately $5 to $6 USD per kilogram or ₦2,300 to ₦2,800 per 50kg bag)
- *USA:*
- Price per metric ton: $93 to $102 USD (approximately ₦41,000 to ₦45,000 per metric ton or ₦820 to ₦900 per 50kg bag)
- *Turkey:*
- Although there's no direct price comparison available, it's worth noting that Turkey's cement industry was affected by the Russia-Ukraine war, leading to increased prices due to higher coal costs.

Keep in mind that these prices are subject to change based on location, transportation costs, and market conditions. Prices in Nigeria are based on recent data from 2024 and 2025, while international prices are based on data from Q1 2025 and Q2 2025 ¹ ² ³.

Nobody blackmailed anybody, so a serious nation on earth will allow importation of something we have abundant raw materials of and expect the economy to grow. China has long banned the importation of all things you can produce, and that is why its economy is booming. You Igbo people are the biggest importers in Nigeria, I understand, but I think it is about time your kinsmen start looking the way of production, else you guys will cry more marginalization ooo..
