I was talking about someone buyinga brand new 2026 car on one thread 2 days ago . It's the same guy. He's not up to 2 years in Canada that he bought the car.

At least his job is paying reasonably
There are plenty Nigerians residing in Canada on this forum. Why is it always ONLY NIGERIANS IN NIGERIA that make these kind comments. Why not let Nigerians in Canada tell us what's up??

What did he expect going to Canada . If he had put that money in Money market, he would have been getting at least 700K per month without any work or effort

Believe this story at your own peril. There are holes here and there.

First, "After the passing of his father" he sold the house.
But story went on to say that the parents relocated back to Enugu after selling the house.

Secondly was the demolition of houses in Lagos, which took place when?

This stupid story was concocted by the paid Agbadorians to discourage youths who want to move.
Tinubu media submit are really doing their best but it isn't enough because we're not fools.

My daughter is already on her way, no going back.

Blame your travelling agent. Better agents won't just help you to process your visa, they would also link you with job .

I have a friend who relocated to Canada like a year plus or 2 now, he was first on government payment for like 6 months before securing a job

One AI generated video about unemployment in UK. They asked the guy about the unemployment in the country, his response was the immigrants are taking our jobs, then the presenter asked him,

What qualifications do you have to secured a decent job

His response: The immigrants are taking that too

That was really very funny
Government payment 😅😂🤣. Your friend seeked asylum, he's not coming back to Nigeria anytime soon 📌💯

As a young Nigerian, if you don't have a skill or craft in nigeria that you've developed or built..... traveling outside the country will be very difficult.

You can't be lazy in Nigeria while hoping that you can easily be feeding fat in another man's country by sleeping an snoring.
I'm not sure you read the whole article , he had a skill or craft as you put it

He is right to an extent sha cheesy

Interestingly, I was still talking about this Indian situation with someone yesterday. Indians and nepotism are like 5 and 6. If Canada had someone like Trump, Indians go down see shege.

Once an Indian becomes a manager of a store or even an engineering department, give it 1-2 years, that place will be filled with Indians. And not just Indians but Indians from his region back home.

Punjab will fill everywhere with singh and kaur, Gujarat will fill everywhere wit Patel, the Keralas with fill everywhere with the Varghese e.t.c grin

What year did the last person move, Canadians with years of experience are complaining a foreign skilled person will now get the job.
Most of the jobs secured before traveling are either multinational companies like deloitte, Google, Mobil and co. Other jobs are based on connection, your relative own the company or is a top executive in the company.
Canada does not value foreign experience unlike USA or UK. Don't deceive yourself.
someone moved december last year or later

i called him to tell him there was a job opening for head of engineering in a nigerian firm only for him to tell me he is in Canada
there is even one whiny noisemaker like that who japed maybe three months ago

Whether you have a Job or not abroad, the minimum cost of living is $1500/month at the very least.

Can you survive, if it takes you 1 year to get a Job ?

Dont forget, America,UK, Canada have unemployed people.....they have their own citizens looking for jobs.
You say it like it would have been $45M that people have had and blown.
You went on an adventure, and you took the decision OYO.....
Survive and think deep.
That's how you know who you were meant to be.
Whether here or anywhere

Reading this story indicates a supposed graduate without either soft skill or craft.

He claimed he grad from LASU. Does it mean the course he did was not marketable. He could take a chance to sponsor himself via academics to Canada but the schooled Illiterate couldn't choose that.

Taking up fashion designing, it's obvious he doesn't have believe in the skill. This is obvious when he concluded that it's only one person that usually called him for such. This also shows the guy was towing the self defeat path.

No personal research or conviction he made on his own. It shows that the bought into what the so-called cousin or agent sold to him about Canada. He's left alone to face it, as his cousin has deserted him.

The ungrateful fellow described what he currently used to guide himself as "this low jobs"...He forgot that people have held to such and later turn their lives around for good.

He needs to work on himself. His belief system is irredeemably poor, he should look out for soft skill or perhaps take some certified programs that can position him to earn better over there.

Nothing is wrong with the system in Canada, it's the same everywhere. But much is totally WRONG with the fellow.

Which job? Any agent that tells you he will get you a job along with your visa to Canada is very likely a fraud.
If you aren't using an immigration consultant or an Immigration lawyer, just be hopeful you don't get scammed.
Your friend that got paid by government probably seek asylum in Canada, government will not pay you a dime for immigrating to their country.
Lastly, don't use student route to come to Canada, it's just a means to suffer. If you cant get your PR don't bother moving to Canada
u de mind that one.. Na to de praise tinubu n Buhari him sabi

, he made the difficult decision to sell the family home, a beloved residence filled with memories, for a significant sum of ₦45 million.

My dad took a big gamble to sell his house in Anifowoshe and relocated back to Enugu, hoping that after one year, I should be able to buy new house for him.

he then went to enugu to learn fashion design
then he came to lagos to look for employment in a fashion firm
then he was told that fashion designers are in demand in canada

if this is not some clout farming slop, the guy has his own problem
you just enter canada and start fashion designing - just like that?

Although this is a made up story, as 'bad' as thr media would make you think Nigeria 🇳🇬 is, with shrewd resources management, there are businesses you can invest 10m on and will gross you 1m monthly profits

that's a sure travel agent. You are on point here. Even the #45m he used to process the visa is very much. I'm hopeful the stranded brother will get a tangible job.
The cousin who encouraged him and later abandoned him also had substantial part of that 40m naira. Some abroad based Nigerians are nothing but scammers preying on desperate young Nigerians who want to leave the country at all cost

The holes in this story are more than those on the Sagamu- Benin expressway.

Your family house was sold in Ikeja because of demolition? When, how? As the house now been demolished? Demolition in Anifowoshe Ikeja for that matter!

You learnt tailoring and now looking for a fashion company to employ you? Even the master in the biblical story would have called you a lazy servant.

The course you studied in Lasu could not be mentioned? We sure say you even attend Lasu?

You hate Nigeria while here, yet the hate remains in you even after presumably travelling out. This does not change anything.

You blame everyone else for your predicament only short of blaming your parents for not building their house in Lekki for you to sell.

I rarely comment on rubbish Twitter stories like this but notwithstanding......

I’m telling you , I don’t know why most Nigerians are obsessed with white collar jobs when you can earn twice or more in blue collar trades.

I keep telling people , if you ever get Into the US , please just go and learn a blue collar trade via apprenticeship. You even get paid $15 - 17 while starting out… just focus on grabbi the damn skill, the money will come in about 3 - 5 years… it’s a process not a get rich quick scheme.

Elevator mechanics are grossing over 200K USD per annum.. you hardly see Nigerians doing blue collar jobs , you wan do big man Dey siddon ontop desk and wearing suit , meanwhile shi shi no Dey your pocket,
Brother please note that this job u are talking about takes years to complete.

First u should ask which visa him take enter..
For example in uk here most came with 1 year student visa or two years most n it's through school. U wont leave classes to learn apprenticeshi more also the system won't allow u.

It's only when u are settled then u can think that area

I don't think this guy is lazy. His problem is that he has mentality of being an employee despite being a graduate and fashion designer. He just wanted to be working for someone or organisation.
If he had had the mindset of entrepreneur, 40m naira was enough to lift him up and soar. Even with this present economy, 40m naira would have given him a good headstart in life.

But if he blew that 45m, no way he can pay rent.
I am guessing he came in via visit visa and overstayed hence becoming illegal. This is becoming common nowadays.

If he came in through PR, he could at least get a minimum wage job.
PR process is mad.
