5,300 Lagosians Graduate From Lagos Skill Acquisition Programme by Lanrelagboi(op): 7:16am On Aug 08, 2025
Today, over 5,300 Lagosians graduated from our State’s skill acquisition programme.

This achievement marks the beginning of a new chapter for the graduates. They now hold practical skills in areas such as fashion design, welding, carpentry, cosmetology, and more. They’ve put in the work, and now they’re equipped to take the next step toward independence.

But as I reminded them, skill alone is not enough. Discipline, perseverance, and integrity are just as important. These qualities will shape how far they go and how well they sustain what they’ve built.

Our administration is committed to creating opportunities, and we will continue to invest in programmes like this. But the real value lies in how these opportunities are used. Some graduates will start small businesses, while others will expand what they’ve already begun. Each one now has the tools and the responsibility to create something meaningful for themselves and for others.

The journey ahead won’t always be easy, but I believe in their potential. Many global businesses began with a single skill and a clear purpose. There is no reason our own success stories can’t start right here in Lagos.

I congratulate all the graduates. Make this count, not just for today, but for the future you’re building.

Yes there is a computer based skill which is the computer IT.

There is no skill i repeat no skill that is a waste of time, your service will definitely be needed as long as you’re good at it. And mind you, everyone cannot be based on computer alone.

There are other skills which includes Photography, barbing & hairdressing, catering & hotel management, fashion design e.t.c certificate will also be given at the end of the program by the LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT

I am a beneficiary of this program (in photography/videography/editing) which is now putting food on my table. Your skill will take you places and also make you meet great people.

Learning a skill is the best gift I gave myself after graduating from the University

Kudos to Lagos state government

If every governors in Nigeria made it a mission to train at least 20,000 people in this kind of skills acquisition since Nigeria gained independence and empowered them with tools and equipment and even Capital. Nigeria would be more better than this

we are not lacking in skills, we are lacking in funds and resources to start up a profitable business, now tell me what resources was provided to them?
Re: 5,300 Lagosians Graduate From Lagos Skill Acquisition Programme by almayda: 8:35am On Aug 08, 2025
The sad truth is that most of these graduates will begin work almost immediately while our Uni and Poly graduates of many years are still without a job...skill acquisition will guarantee you a job most times.

Speak for yourself. You think people that went for the training did because they do not need the skills?

You don’t need any link to any web site, they have centres all around lagos state they have at Ayobo, Egbeda, Agege, ikotun, ikorodu, etc just walk into a centre that is close to you and make inquiries.

They already have a session going on at the moment which will end in December. I will advise you to take that bold step.

By the way which area do you stay? So as to know the one to go to

Since you stay close to Abule egba/iyana ipaja, I will advise you to go to Agege center which is (WDC).

Though they have 2 centers in Agege WDC and one is beside NYSC camp. WDC is the center to go not the one beside NYSC camp.

He’s saying computer based skill such as graphics, desktop publishing courses should be added then if not added it’s a waste of time and it’s true.

Computer has come to make so many skills easy so they should even be taught basic computer skills coupled with whatever they will learn.

Computer has made mechanics and rewires jobs easy by diagnosing.

How is this a replacement for the failure of Lagos progreThieves to employ enough teachers and other workers for the free education of all children in 26 years of ebilokan’s lootocracy master plan?
