The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced a temporary withdrawal of the 2025 WASSCE results for School Candidates due to technical issues found during an internal post-release review. The problem arose from bugs linked to a new paper serialization system implemented to curb examination malpractice in key subjects like Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics.

To ensure fairness and accuracy, WAEC has suspended access to the result checker portal for 24 hours while the errors are corrected. Affected candidates are advised to re-check their results after this period. The Council has expressed sincere apologies for the inconvenience and reassured the public of its commitment to transparency and excellence in assessment.

Looks like this glitch has become transferable between examination bodies in Nigeria.

I am sure they outsourced it . I am fairly certain that there is corruption attached to the contract and it wasn’t awarded to the best company . Corruption will always be a huge reason for our stagnancy as a nation

I’ve seen many self-proclaimed “Mr. Know-It-Alls” quick to blame students for mass failure in external exams—pointing fingers at TikTok, Instagram, and other social media platforms as the cause.

Simply put APC lacks the right personels to oversee the administration of WASSCE.
