Their receipt has dollar rate on the left and naira rate on the right side. I lost my darling father there, about 50M in today's worth paid.
The legislators won't pass working & effective health insurance policies. The money won't have been a issue. The other ones won't learn.

I agree about places not accepting naira but I specifically mentioned medical services? Luxury goods are priced in USD due to stability of the currency.

People's comments about the hospital made me understand that their customer base is UHNI.

Oga Naira is the only legal tender in Nigeria. All business transactions within Nigerian territory is supposed to be done in Naira.

In 1998, Dora, being one of the directors of PTF ( petroleum trust fund) in the southeast, felt sick... She live in Enugu, of course the teaching hospitals are the best equipped hospitals with the most learned doctors in Nigeria.. she went there... After much test, she was diagnosed with a begining stage cancerous tumour growth by the Nigerian doctors there..

She was asked to do treatment for it as it is easy at that stage...being a big women..she agreed with the diagnosis, but declined bro treat with them, Instead preferred to fly overseas for it...

She applied for medical leave with medical allowances... because she is a top director, sh was awarded huge sum for the major surgery, also because she stated the operation will be done abroad...

While she travelled for her operations, the department of PTF was disbanded...and OBJ re-organized it's goals and objectives and re -branded it as PTDF...

In the memo sent to all the directors Nation wide, they were asked to come to Abujs Under the ministry of health for de-breifing and re -appointment is needed ...

She was away on Medical leave..

When sh got to the overseas hospital and presented her medical report from UNN teaching hospital, the doctors read and did some test and dismissed the fear of an upcoming tumour transforming into a cancerous growth... They told her it's just an inflammation and nothing to fear . They gave her some treatment and she was fine with it...

Remember, this whole things didn't make her soberly sick.. just a lil bit if medical concern..

She spend less than 1/5 of the money budgeted for her medicical operation... So when sh returned, she headed straight to Abuja for de-breifing as instructed... Among her account of stewardship is large sum of money returned.. sh wrote in her official de-breifing memo.. that this sum was the change from her unused medical allowance granted her for her "wrongly diangnozed" ailments which turned out not to b...

The ministry was astonished as to how a Nigerian will return government money in her possession which has already been assigned to her.. it became a thing of viral talk in the ministry of health long after she was gone..

One month later, during a FEC (federal executive council meeting) with the president , OBJ, in a friendly public chat the minister of health told the executive about the viral tale of a very financially decent woman in one of the health agencies who did.. bla, bla, bla...


OBj heard it, and was amazed.. then, he was putting together a team he can trust and work with.. he personally ask for Dora's phone number... And in his chosen day ... He called her directly to service..

That was the story of her rise...

Ten years later.. the tumour rose again in her Anatomy, guess what..?

It exactly the location where sh heard fears before.. this time sh is very very rich, popular, a top govt official, and this was during GEJ ... Sh excused herself and went to UNN... Yes.. her husband still lives in Enugu ND a resident doctor there...

They diagnosed same thing.. ND told her it has spread and now difficult to handle... She travelled put to same hospital back then... And they confirmed what UNN said...

However, they started her chemotherapy anyways... Sh did and did and died in it.... Sh later told her husband , had sh known, she would have listened bro the Nigerian doctors back in 1998....
