Mourinho was in inspired form tonight!
I think the UCL brings the best out of him..
Can they topple benfica in the next stage?
Time will tell..

I would absolutely love to see Fenerbache and Mourinho in the main UCL stage
When he was making those subs like for like and left two strikers on the pitch even when they were two goals ahead, it was then I knew this was another animal.

They had an xGOT of 4.27.

For context Kovenhavn beat Malmo 5-0 and had an xGOT of 2.57.

One bad performance and you are already calling for his head. Do you think changing coaches every three market days is going to facilitate the progress we want to see in our national teams?
Better talk wetin dey your mind and stop defending a mediocre coach without any proven record.

Mind you, not just one bad performance but too many of them including against an unknown zanbizar

Was Chelle in charged when Mexico walloped our home-based boys 5-0 in the USA, a few years ago? You can't give what you don't have, those guys are piss-poor.
Who selected those piss-poor players for him? He's the coach and as well should be in charge of team selection.

All all the goals Nigeria concede, is either through defensive lapses, own goal, or pinealty.
The overall style of play was not really bad, we just don't have the players.
You can't blame the coach of this heavy loss of the CHAN team.
Which style of play
We had just one shot on target in the entire match
And that came around 80 minutes of play
Or na back pass you dey call style of play?

Nobody is talking about the flat midfield.
Who wins a tournament without defensive midfielders?
The midfield can be likened to hot knife cutting through butter.
If the NPFL top scorer can't start a game, then that shows that our league ain't good enough.

If Eric Chelle fails to get the CB pairing and midfield pairing right in our WCQ games Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

How is it funny or stupidity? It's the rational thing to do, the right thing to do. Shey na him fault say the players no know their left from right?

Na homebased players dey eligible to play, the Remo Stars won the league right? Is it bad if he chooses from their team, or is he supposed to pack players from Niger Tornadoes? Or should he have gone to Egypt and South Africa to choose players?

Ever since Chelle first came on board, I have maintained the same opinion: he is either deluded or out of his depth. Last year, Paulo Fonseca was appointed as the coach of AC Milan. He attempted to impose a tiki-taka style on a counter-attacking team, which obviously didn't work. We lost many matches, and he was sacked in mid-December, less than five months into his tenure.

Chelle seems to be making the same mistakes. He is using a diamond formation, placing players in positions that do not suit their strengths, and employing overly complicated tactics. When the team list for Chan was released, people complained that he hadn't selected the best personnel. Imagine going to a competition without a defensive midfielder or any wingers, and instead taking fringe players! He defended his selections, claiming they were the best for his tactics.

Now that we are facing defeats, some people are blaming the players. Who else can we hold accountable if not Chelle and his unrealistic tactics? It's worth noting that the Sudan league has been on break for over a year due to civil war. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with Chelle and no one else.

Sorry sir. I forgot that these CHAN Super Fowls are actually a squad of world-class players with a winning mentality, especially after their remarkable draw with FREAKING ZANZIBAR.

Yes, It's completely the coach's fault they were utterly outclassed and made to look like traffic cones at the defense. We should just fire Chelle immediately and find a manager who can make this team competitive and stop relying on excessive and pointless back passes, maybe with prayers and some pixie dust and the feathers of a one-eyed pigeon.

Make una continue. Nonsense and ingredients.

Terrible mentality by these players. Can't even pass the ball or read the game. Meanwhile, Chelle looks like he still doesn't know the strengths and weaknesses of these guys. Why did they even hand over the duty to him? Na by force? His own approach sef get kleg. But what do you get when you have technically deficit players with you anyway. What a combo of disaster!!!

Semis? He’s either he wins or in the finals! We were in the finals the last edition, we said we want sexy football and not haram so that sexy football must win Afcon or appearance in the finals. Anything less is a failure!

Rational thing to do?, picking 7 players of Remo stars because they won the league?. What did they do against Senegal and Sudan as almost all of them started both games!

In every team playing in the NPFL, there is at least one or two better players in each position better than the Remo boys he took to CHAN..
Even at his age, Rabiu Ali of Kano pillars is better than the midfielder, Tochukwu that's playing in the CHAN tournament.

There are teams with known pedigrees in Africa football. They have proven it in the domestic league and African tournament alongside the nations cup. No Nigerian team has proven anything in the league and African competition. Remo stars will fail woefully in the CAF championship.
If I may ask, who is suppose to lead the attack of the CHAN team?, is it not the highest goal scorer at the just concluded NPFL league? If the coaches consider him not good enough, then it speaks volume of either a sobatage or something else.

Baba, We all know what some of these teams have done. They have done well consistently in their leagues, African tournaments and even competed well in the just Fifa world cup.

I cited examples of clubs in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and of recent clubs in South Africa. You personally know the top clubs I am referring to.

When Egypt won Afcon 3 times in a row, we knew that most of the team members came from a few selected team.

Make we use Remo star players prosecute our remaining world cup qualifying games Na because they won the league.

The best players are not always clustered in a single team, not in Nigeria...

When Eyimba was Eyimba, picking 7 players and starting them in this CHAN tournament, E for clear for Opponents eye Na.

How is he supposed to know their strengths and weaknesses when the NFF just hoisted the squad onto him on short notice? How long has he interacted with the B squad or even watched their domestic games? He had no business working with this squad. He should be focusing on the AFCON and the FIFA WC qualifiers.

But sure, let's sack him because he lost games trying to coach a literal circus of clowns on the pitch.
