Coming from which brand? Which apps were you trying to download that crashed? If you bought a new phone that crashes apps, you should either update the phone, do a factory reset or both.

Redmi 14C (6GB + 128GB)
The opened the first time. The second time, they just crashed. All of 'em.'

After a sometime, I had to force stop them before reopening again.

Doesn't make the phone trashy, simply do a factory reset and you'll be fine. Even flagship models from Samsung have had issues like this before. For the price of the Redmi 14c, is there any other device you have in mind that you don't consider as waste of money?

But there's nothing 'techy' about tweaking phones. embarassed

You just have to learn how to read; which I doubt you have.

That phone is piece of waste. I bought it for my mum and decided to test it. The three apps I downloaded and opened crashed the second time.

It will be good for her but coming from that brand feels like money wasted.
That's strange

Even older iterations such as Redmi 9C and 10C don't crash apps.

Something has to be wrong somewhere. Are the apps from Play Store?

Thanks so much for ur advice. I really appreciate. Concerning the battery life, if I'm buying, I'm not buy a used one. On the price, I'm seeing 400/450 on AliExpress. Thanks once again 👍🏽
dmgr:
Just keep in mind that there is no longer software update, and the battery life would have deteriorated due to age of the phone. (Charge cycle)

Aside that I think the SD 888, even thou old can still hold up in 2025.

And another vital thing to consider is the price, if you can get it at very good price then go for it, if not look elsewhere.
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Misterlecturer: 5:49pm On Aug 12, 2025
Thanks bro. I appreciate your response. I just needed someone with better idea of the phone power since it's almost 5 yrs old. I just love the design & the back camera arrangement coupled with d additional screen. Thanks once again 👍🏽.
Gptech:
Depends on you but I will take it over even the unreleased Redmi note 15 pro+ any day! I know of someone who uses it together with a Pixel 9 pro xl. Just ordered for another case for the 11 ultra.
You can check this video for a brief camera comparison with the 15 ultra.

You won't get a new one anywhere! It's better you buy used from trusted sellers here, at least you'll get one with Global rom. The ones on AliExpress are used and some have Chinese roms flashed. You better check the description of items you buy on AliExpress, some sellers are dubious.

One reason I'll never buy used xiaomi phones on Aliexpress again!

I ordered redmi 6 pro in March this year to support my RN13, only to discover that it's a Chinese version running on global Rom. All attempts to update the software to the latest version have failed.

Besides, the device also fails product authentication test from Xiaomi, and when I contacted seller to know why I couldn't update the software and sign into Xiaomi account, his response was: "don't try to update the phone by yourself". At that point, and after much findings into the matter, I realised that na ẹbu seller con send give me.

That device is old sha. But some of those so called used phones on AliExpress have had some parts replaced by their previous owners. If you read reviews you'll see so many complaints. If you must buy used on AliExpress, ensure the seller is highly recommended from user reviews.

Interestingly, the seller has 5 star reviews from buyers, that's why I ordered from him.

Again, yes the phone is old (running android 10), but my plan was to unlock the bootloader and then flash the latest custom firmware on it (I already saw online quite a number of roms for the device). That's why I went for it, in addition to it's small size.

Nawa ooo, the average Chinese is not too different from the average Nigerian. It's better to just avoid getting used devices from China then. If not for strict regulations on the part of Aliexpress, many of us would have been burnt ; even at that, some sellers still find their way around being dubious.

Thanks so much for this info. Can't believe all the ones I saved in my cart are used. Not sure I can buy a used one especially for that price. Guess I'm not destined to use my favourite phone ever 😂. Thanks once again 👍🏽

My Ogas

Which one will be a good phone to upgrade to coming from Realme GT NEO 2

Redmi Turbo 4 pro
Oppo K13 turbo pro
Realme GT 7 China
Iqoo Neo 10pro plus
Oneplus Ace 5 Ultra

All have similar screen sizes which am comfortable with and large battery too.

Where i have problems deciding is their camera lens and Os experience

Xiaomi and Realme no be stranger to me.

Oneplus and Oppo has similar OS experience with Realme, my main concern is Funtouch OS

Thanks

It seems you have settled for the Iqoo Neo 10pro plus but your concern is in the os. I take it that you are someone who likes to explore. I don't see anything to be afraid of with the os, afterall it has one of the best processors available on any smart phone today.
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by omotolsy(m): 4:38pm On Aug 20, 2025
All of these phones are on china rom.

China rom is good. If you must buy an hyperos phone buy the china hyperos.

For me i will pick the iqoo on your list followed by the oneplus but instead i would go for the Oneplus Nord 5 Global and not the Ace 5 Ultra chinese variant.

Good luck.
