Im surprised many are still looking down on Sudan. Al Merrikh and Al Hilal player make up the core now. These two teams are on the dream list of many NPFL players and these two teams sabi ball in Caf Champions League while we only have 2 teams in top 50 caf club rankings.

If you're on 2.0 and everyone else is on 5.0, then you now upgrade to 4.5 and feel you've arrived, look well well, the 5.0s are now on 7.5 upwards. So the thing we call progress will now be as everyone else dey upgrade before.

For what it's worth, i hope this connect style dies soon. It is killing our football since days of Macauley and Fortune Chukwudi.

Remo won the league in style but they still need a lot to be done. If they mess up on the continent, we'll understand that we can fully blame the quality of players and little on chelle. Till then.
It's the Nigerian way of just beating chest kiri

Whether home based or foreign based if you’re good you’re good!

If as a country we had enough materials and talent the current folks manning our midfield in the main super eagles squad with either be on the bench or not be invited at all. So let’s be clear it’s not an home based thing alone!

I just don't want to agree with this sentiment that the quality of the local league has dropped is why we should get pummeled by Sudan of all countries.

No Nigerian team at any level should be losing to Sudan let alone with a 4-0 margin.

The quality of our league has not dropped compared to the 80s and 90s, in fact, there has been significant improvements in terms of infrastructure, players welfare, investments and exposure.

The talent is always there and I believe we should be able to get players from the local league today that can compete favorably at AFCON just like it was In 1990.

This same team easily put Ghana to the sword with a very convincing display so what went wrong?

In retrospect, the change of guard at the wvery last minute seems I'll advised.
we are also supposed to be one leg in the world cup as regard our WC qualifiers based on the type of teams in our group then we know where we are.

If you are expecting WC, your name should be changed to HOPE. Make FIFA do quick and announce their decision so we don't waste our hope grin grin.
In my opinion I don't believe our current team can win all remaining games without dropping a point.

Why sacking coaches then for poor performance if he is not the one to enter field....elyte coaching Chan team would not have lost to Sudan😄,haba 4-0 and Chelle was on the bench, and we should spare him....against Zimbabwe he messed it up.

Stage and protest with those NANS jokers and get rid of Chelle if it pains you that much.

And you better make sure your replacement wins the AFCON and takes us to the World Cup whether by hook or by crook because I definitely wouldn't want to want to hear your excuses and sob stories then.

Nonsense.
Sorry you don vex.

Yes he did,Osayi was out gasping, all he needed was to close the line in the few minutes remaining, eagles need that 3 points to close the gap....are you now saying if we are in the same situation in subsequent matches you will be happy seeing our opponents equalizing.....yes he will not enter field but his tactical approach dictate what players does on the field.

Na Chelle wey I blame to coach dem self which I believe he doesn’t have any idea of how bad our local based players are
Yes, he doesn't have an idea. He prepared them for the tournament, conducted training sessions, even brought some to the senior national team and still doesn't have an idea of how bad the players.

Ok, he is still studying them to determine the extent.

Even if we dont drop a point which i doubt, e still slim.

Anyway na AFCON many people use take rate Chelle. We cant blame him alone for WCQ woes.

If we want to perform well at CHAN, we need a dedicated coach to comb outside the NPFL as well. Thats the reality. Out best players locally are mostly not playing in the NPFL.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Diavolo: 5:56pm On Aug 13, 2025
I pointed out Chelle's flaws back in March, and now in August, he's still making the same mistakes. Yes, those players have their shortcomings, but they aren't as bad as he has made them appear. In the next round of qualifiers, I predict we'll manage to win against Rwanda but lose to South Africa. At that point, many people will start to see the flaws in his unrealistic tactical ideas and diamond formation.

When they beat Zimbabwe in Harare, we commended him and praised him. When they won the unity cup and drew with Russia, we commended him. Whenever the performance is below par, every other thing na shalaye, since we commended him for good performance of the team, it's fair to wack him for any below par performance or unexpected results.
In that game, it was obvious Ekong and Osayi were tired, shouldn't the coach have seen that too. Finally at the end of that game. We could actually have lost the whole game. I come in peace.

One reason why I love Osimhen. He gives 700% when he shows up in SE colors. As long as he continues to do this, even if he plays for a club in mars, I will follow him and cheer him there. I am more passionate about SE than any team, thats why I joined this thread.
