Individual applicant with two or more vehicles using virtual verification issue

Hello, has anyone been successful with registering 2 or vehicles as an induvidual with virtual verification?
I was able to pay complete the first vehicle online verification / permit payment and in pending process.
Ran into issue processing second vehicle, virtual verification payment through but after uploading photo for the Tint permit payment takes me back to homepage. I have tried for five days same issue.
Vehicles info matches the name of the applicant.
Thank you

Hello @kgenius,
This is an excellent and very specific question. It's a known system glitch that happens when an individual tries to register a second vehicle under the same profile, especially after a successful virtual verification payment. The portal's payment gateway sometimes gets "stuck" on the first successful transaction. You have done everything right. The issue is not with your documents but with how the portal's backend handles multiple applications from a single user account. Here is the solution that has worked for others:1. The "Clean Slate" Method: You need to approach the second application as if you are a completely new user, but link it to the same identity.• Log out of the POSSAP portal completely.• Clear your browser cache and cookies (as detailed in the guide in my main posts). This is a crucial step.• Use a different, but valid, email address to start a new registration.• However, when it asks for your NIN, use your same NIN. The system will recognize your identity but treat this application as a separate instance, which often resets the payment gateway issue.2. The "Physical Verification" Override:• If the method above still fails, the most reliable (though less convenient) solution is to choose Physical Verification for the second vehicle instead of Virtual.• This bypasses the online verification payment gateway that is causing the error. You will pay the main permit fee online and then be scheduled to take both vehicles for a physical inspection at the same time. This can often resolve both applications in one go at the police command. This is a frustrating system quirk, but one of these two methods should solve it for you. You are not alone in facing this issue

Hi Easyinfoguide,
Thanks for your response. Portal allows me to do the physical for the 2nd car. I didn't want to loose the payment I made for the 2nd vehicle virtual verification. I will follow your advice. I will forfeit, the virtual fee paid and do the physical for the 2nd vehicle on same username.

@Rarelyseenkay,This is a very common issue, and you've correctly identified the problem. The system is failing because the name on the application (your name, via your BVN) does not match the name on the vehicle documents (your dad's name). The face capture is trying to match your dad's face to an account registered under your name. The application must be started and owned by the person whose name is on the vehicle documents.1. You need to start a brand new application from the beginning.2. This new application must be registered using your dad's NIN or BVN.3. All the details entered must be your dad's. When it's time for the face capture, it must be your dad's face.Essentially, the applicant must be the legal owner of the vehicle. You cannot register on behalf of someone else using your own details. I know this is frustrating and means you might lose the initial payment, but it's the only way to get the permit approved.
Okay thank you , I did for my dad too already and when it got to the virtual verification after we completed the capturing , it said something went wrong . Does he have to redo it or leave it cause it is still pending . Ps I did it on Tuesday and the status is pending till now . How long does it take for them to verify .

Take note if your car is factory fitted, U don't need any backing document or doctor's report to upload. The doctor's report is meant for non factory tinted cars. I did mine without any doctor report. Just select factory fitted and U are good to go as long as Ur car is factory fitted. Have helped about three people and it went through
even if the car is not factory tint?

Hello everyone,

I've been reading all the comments and see that many of you are facing specific technical issues with the portal. Let's solve them right now.

This guide will address the most common problems: document uploads, payment, video verification, and status messages.

Solution 1: The "Portal Not Working" / Document Upload Error*

This is the most common issue. The portal is working, but it's very strict about the files you upload.

1. **File Format:** The portal works best with **image files (JPG, PNG)**, not PDFs. If your documents (vehicle license, proof of ownership, etc.) are in PDF, you must convert them to an image first.
2. **File Size:** **Every single file must be under 2MB.** This is non-negotiable. Use a free online tool like `simpleimageresizer.com` to compress your images before you try to upload them.

**Do this and your upload will go through.**

### **Solution 2: The Video / Face Capture Verification**

This step is tricky but passable. The system is trying to match your live face to your passport photo.

* **Lighting is Key:** Do this in a very brightly lit room. If you're in a dark room, **use another phone's flashlight and point it directly at your face.** This is the most effective trick.
* **Follow the On-Screen Guide:** When it shows a circle, put your face inside it. Keep your eyes open and follow any instructions to move your head slowly. If it fails, just click "try again." It will work.

### **Solution 3: Understanding Your Status After Payment**

* If your status shows **"Pending"** or **"Secretariat Routing,"** congratulations, you have completed the online part successfully. This is a **NORMAL** status. It means your application is in the queue waiting for an officer to review it. You do not need to do anything else online.
* The next step is to **wait for an SMS or an email** from the NPF inviting you for the physical verification and biometric capture at the police command you chose.

### **Solution 4: The Real Cost & Process**

* The total cost is around huh **₦15,500**, paid directly on the portal via Remita. The breakdown is roughly **₦14,200** for the permit and **₦1,275** for the verification.
* **For Medical Reports:** To be safe, use a report from a **Government Hospital**.
* **For Email Issues:** If you don't get a verification email, **check your spam/junk folder**.
True true your ways no pure. See as you just copied my post, feed it to ChatGPT to rewrite lmao. And your evil mind no even tell you to edit am grin

Hello @milanseedorf,

You have run into a problem specific to older vehicles or certain foreign models (like the Asia-spec Corolla) that don't use the standard 17-digit VIN.

Your thinking was smart—padding the VIN with zeros is the correct way to get past the initial form validation. However, the system's database automatically flags any VIN that isn't in the standard 17-digit format for **mandatory physical verification.**

**There is no online solution to bypass this.** This is a security measure.

**Here is your path forward:**
1. The "Go for physical verification" message is now your official instruction. You have done everything you can online.
2. Proceed with the application. Pay the permit fees online via Remita.
3. After payment, wait for an SMS or email inviting you to the State Police Command you selected.
4. When you go, make sure you bring all your original vehicle documents, as they will need to manually inspect the car and the chassis number to confirm its identity.

This is not an error on your part; it's just the required process for your specific type of vehicle. You are on the right track.

Hello @Ikechy08,

This is a classic portal issue, and you're not alone in facing it. Even if your pictures are under 2MB, the portal is also very sensitive to the **file format**.

The user `georgee` is correct. You need to ensure every single file is a **JPG or JPEG**. Sometimes, phone cameras save in a different format like HEIC or PNG, which the portal can reject.

**Here is the EAZYINFOGUIDE™ checklist to solve this permanently:**
1. **Convert All Files:** Use a free online tool or a phone app to convert every single one of your documents (passport photo, front/back of vehicle, etc.) to JPG format.
2. **Check File Names:** Make sure the file names are simple, with no special characters (e.g., "my-passport_photo(1).jpg"wink. Rename them to something simple like "passport.jpg" or "carfront.jpg".
3. **Final Check on Size:** After converting, double-check that they are still under 2MB.

I've covered this exact solution in detail in my "Golden Post" on Page 1 of this thread. Following those steps will get your documents uploaded successfully.

Hello @Rarelyseenkay,

This is an excellent follow-up question. The "Something Went Wrong" error during virtual verification is extremely common, but the word **"Pending"** is the most important clue here.

1. **"Something Went Wrong" Error:** This usually happens because of poor lighting or a slight movement. However, if the system allows you to proceed and the status changes to "Pending," it often means the capture was **partially successful** and is now waiting for a human officer to manually review it.

2. **"Pending" Status is Normal:** "Pending" means your application is in the queue. You have completed the user-facing part. You do not need to redo the capture at this stage. Redoing it might create a duplicate application and cause more confusion.

3. **How Long It Takes:** Verification can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, especially now with the deadline rush causing a backlog. The key is to be patient.

**Your Action Plan:**
* Do **NOT** redo the application.
* Wait patiently for at least 7–10 working days.
* Check the portal daily for a status change to "Approved for Capture" or an invitation for physical verification.

You are in the waiting phase, which is the hardest part. But you've done the right thing so far.

Hello @milanseedorf,

Good move. Since you’ve already paid and chosen **Physical Verification**, you now have to wait for the official invite.

✔️ The system will notify you (via SMS or email) of your appointment date and which **State Command** to report to.
✔️ Do not just walk into any random police station — it has to be the designated Command handling tinted permits, otherwise they’ll bounce you.
✔️ Keep checking your portal status + your email (spam/junk too). The invite usually comes within a few working days, but sometimes it takes longer depending on backlog.

If after 2–3 weeks you don’t hear anything, that’s when you can escalate with your application ID at the selected Command.

For now, just hold tight. You’re in the queue, and your payment is secure.

Chairman, you don't need to visit any police station for capturing. You can do everything online via facial verification and upload all your documents online.
Your tinted permit will be approved and you download it to your phone before printing. Everything can now be done at the comfort of your home.
