Nigeria Now Has 2 CAF Approved Stadium For 2025/26 Continental Competition by robosky02(op): 4:00pm On Aug 14, 2025
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved two stadiums in Nigeria for the 2025/2026 continental competitions:
- *Godswill Akpabio International Stadium*: Located in Uyo, this stadium has met CAF's infrastructure and facility standards.
- *Moshood Abiola National Stadium*: Situated in Abuja, this stadium has also been approved by CAF for continental matches.

These two stadiums will host Nigeria's representatives in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, which include

- *CAF Champions League:* Remo Stars and Rivers United
- *CAF Confederation Cup:* Kwara United and Abia Warriors

It's worth noting that several other stadiums in Nigeria failed to meet CAF's minimum criteria, including the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan and the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba

During OBJ, YAR'DUA and JONATHAN govt's, our stadiums are functioning up to the world class standard. Since APC take over, no standard stadium 🏟️ again in Nigeria!

But how can clubs play their matches outside their home ground and expect them to win. It's as good as playing an away match.

It's a shame on the owners of these clubs who don't have standard stadium for their teams. It's a big shame. I don't see any Nigerian club winning continental trophy
