Most Nigerians are not really smart. Ngozi just told him that the economy is not growing ( that they need to grow it) and that the masses are suffering (social safety net to cushion it). In essence, Mr President your economy has failed. ![]() But of course as head of WTO she has to mask her words so as not to erode public confidence but real economists understand what she meant. |

Tinubumustgo:Not surprise. The same world bank, IMF & WTO also said Babangida SAPprogrammes of those days were in order then; until it clear all nigerians for eyes that we entered one chance. People earning dollars, and making a mess of Naira, are telling you Tinubu policies are in order, believe them @ your own peril. |

saintkel:That's why you people are easy to deceive. True change is not about immediate results today. It's about building foundations that can support true development. A lead who gives you bread to shut up instead of building a bakery is not a leader but that's what you want. |

When we are talking they will say is because we are Yoruba, we are APC meanwhile i am a proud PDP member but we have to say the truth the only 2 reasonable government in the past 15 yrs is the administration of GEJ and BAT, but in this part of Africa we are not truthful in anything. Imagine what Mama Nigeria said about BAT administration. Yet some elements of stupidity will still keep on criticizing |

It was a gradual damage since 1960 up to date and it is also going to be a gradual...thank God it is showing its fruits faster... healing, the growth, the development, the prosperity. The initial difficulty is what is termed as the transitional cost. |

givedemwotowoto:The economy isn't badly run., talk less of very badly run. You should have made these complaints under Buhari. He was the one who ran the economy aground. When he assumed office, 26% of government revenue was spent servicing debt. By 2023 when he was vacating office, 97% of government was going towards serving debt. That means N97 out of every N100 was going towards debt servicing. Buhari was borrowing like there was no tomorrow because he wanted to be populist, did not want Nigerians to suffer. So, he preferred to borrow excessively to make life easy by giving us cheap petrol. The CBN was already printing money to lend to the FG which is very inflationary and that's why the Naira value was collapsing. Things had to change. That's why the 3 maun presidential aspirants said they'll remove the fuel subsidy. The removal by Tinubu saved about 10 trillion a year. The forex market was worse. Buhari who has zero comprehension of economics started fixing the exchange rate. He refused to allow the Naira to depreciate despite crashing crude oil prices. This just destroyed the forex market. At the time Buhari left office, there was only $4bn in net foreign reserves, that is the actual money tge CBN has access to. It was owing purchasers of fx $7bn. The scarcity of forex was what chased Emirates, GSK and some other multi nationals out of the country. With the floating of Naira, sanity was restored. The net foreign reserves has grown from $4bn to $40bn. This can cover 8months of imports. The minimum for a country is 4months. The $4bn in 2023 could not even cover one month. It was that bad. Due to these reforms and improved revenue collection, less than N50 out of every N100 is spent debt servicing. So, things have gotten better. The economy is better managed. However, I'd the government borrowing excessively. Nope, not like before. Nevertheless, the country would have huge borrowing needs. It isn't easy still spending over 40% of revenue on debt servicing. It would take time for things to stabilise. Rome wasn't built in a day. What is important now is that the debts are becoming sustainable. Debt sustainability is very important in any economy and even in a person. There is some questionable borrowing such as for the $60bn bullet train network. Globally, the vast majority lose money. This will be no d8fferent. |

dettolgel:Don't you think it will be good if Ngozi can be hired by Obi to also use people head for his presidential ambition? Instead Obi hireing "best biafra lawyers that don't lose case" that still fell flat to Tinubu lawyers, he should now hire madam ngozi as I stated above to boost Obi chance |

While you young ones are arguing, and some can only argue for APC because their data and livelihood is being paid for by the ruling party, the old man is running around the world just like the previous leader to borrow money to finance this lifestyle of yours. When Buhari called the youths name out of frustration of them not under the situation you were all still talking instead of working for the solution. Tinubu showed you level 2 when he said party is over, now prepare for level 3 when he start whipping the belt on young ones |

Okonja is an economic doctor in the eye of the world. If she says the patient is doing well while the family is running around to borrow money for drop and blood there is hope someone go lens money since they might be repaid, but if Dockky say this one son kpai, na funeral left be that all creditors go come collect their money. Remember when our people were taking out the AC door window and generator for that build in Ibadan MMM na so them go come for everything |
