Looks like the long term plan was to make the debt unpayable , forcing govt to take drastic measures. More govt involvement in everything , more it tends to communism..

I presume that mortgage problem is a direct result of Powell and his 400 plus PhD holders at the Federal Reserve maintaining high fed rates. If he lowered it like he did for Obama ( 0% for about 7 years) the mortgage and interest rates would drastically come down, you think so?

The cost of the plantains I've been buying is a good measure of inflation.

Last year I could buy them for 3/$1(green or ripe) at my local Shaws.
The raised them to 2/$1.
At the local international market they were selling them for 5/$1 for the green ones. So, I started buying them from there.
I would buy 2 dozen every 2 weeks or so for my mom so there are always some in various stages of ripeness for dish she makes.
They increased them to 4/$1 in Feb.
Two weeks ago they increased them to 3/$1
This week they were now 2/$1.
The local Shaws used to be 75c for one. Will check what they are when I go shopping this week.

I guess it doesn't affect all the "manly" men in this thread because they only eat meat anyways.
