The direct flights by the BASA will reduce travel time, cut logistics costs, and open new trade corridors for agricultural products, manufactured goods, and services.

“For Nigerian exporters, Brazilian markets will become more accessible than ever before.

Imagine what Tinubu’s APC is celebrating.....signing MOUs. SMH!

How did we even get here?
Dude, do you realize Brazil is a top ten world economy?, do you go to school at all?. Why does it take us this long?. Have you ever been to Brazil?. Do you have an idea what direct flight means to exporters and entrepreneurs?. You need exposure.

Is Nigeria the only country with direct flight to Brazil? Tell me one single developed country that doesn't have direct flight to Brazil? Brazil is the 9th largest economy on the planet with buoyant manufacturing sector. Brazil manufactures vehicles including trucks, electronics, Aircrafts, computers, heavy equipments, trains etc. GDP of $1.9 trillion no be moin moin o.

It’s very unfortunate, this laudable bi-lateral air agreement will also lead to more opportunities for drug trafficking criminals, mostly, from the region, that hate the president the most.

I can’t wait to be reading about NDLEA 100% inspection of all aircrafts arrival from Brazil.

Guy I'm not disputing the fact that Brazil is developed but Brazil happens to be one of the biggest producers of methamphetamine. With illegal laboraty sprawling around the country.

I did not say its bad development. All am saying is government should be extra careful Brazilian gangs are not your regular gang.

This is your only take away from this, you can see the positive outlook but the negative path, NDELA has been doing their job for a long time, even without Brazil, the drug market has been going on for a long time, law enforcement will do their jobs, let make Nigeria great again.

Is there that much demand to fly direct from Lagos to South America!? Anyway, when the supply is there, sometimes the demand will come.

Apart from direct flights to Brazil, it enables Brazil to become a hub for connecting flights to the rest of South America.

At some point I plan to vist, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile. Also possibly Uraguay

I know the only place your kindred go to is Southeast Asia & Southern Africa for your usual trade & development.

How many Nigerians travel to Brazil apart from a few who go there in search of white materials, they do not even need a direct flight to conceal their moves.

I know food is a top priority on your agenda
So why not Google search

top 10 food exporting countries

We need to be friends with the largest food producers
Brazil is at the same latitude and very similar climate
We can learn a lot from them
I trust you understand what an MOU entails. That said, while the reconnection between Nigeria and Brazil is a positive development, I am more interested in your assertion about what Nigeria can actually learn from Brazil.

To provide context: only a few decades ago, Nigeria was developmentally on par with Brazil. Unfortunately, the “Nigeria factor” gradually crippled our progress and eventually brought us to the stagnation we face today. Take for instance the Super Tucano aircraft, developed in Brazil, for which we paid exorbitant amounts to the United States, an arrangement that many rightly consider a scam.

Similarly, the Ibom Air Embraer aircraft, which recently drew negative attention for an unfortunate corporate arrogance and pornographic display, is a Brazilian product. In the 1980s, Nigeria imported Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses from Brazil, as well as OEM spare parts for intra- and inter-city transportation. Moreover, Brazil demonstrated institutional strength by prosecuting and even imprisoning former and current presidents such as Bolsonaro and Lula da Silva on corruption charges, an accountability measure that remains unthinkable in Nigeria.

Having traveled to Brazil several times, I can attest that there is little Nigeria can realistically take away from this proposed relationship. Not because there is nothing to learn, but because our chronic corruption and entrenched incompetence continue to prevent us from adopting best practices or progressing alongside our peers, countries such as India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and indeed Brazil.

The most tangible benefit that could arise from this reconnection would be reduced travel time between the two nations, which could in turn lower airfares, provided a Nigerian airline enters the market. Alternatively, a Brazilian carrier, perhaps LATAM, might consider servicing the route, much as VARIG once did. Brazil is a top agricultural products and livestock exporter, while Nigeria is still romancing primitive, criminal Fulani herders and Tinubu's laptop bandits.

In the meantime, however, Nigeria remains mired in politics that serve only the top one percent of its political class, while meaningful governance and national development are consistently neglected. This remains the fundamental tragedy of our country.

What is your point? you are saying so many things
What is the summary

When you say developmentally at par

Can you name a specific year
And 3 specific measures of development on which we were at par
